We need to redo the floor in our half bath - previous owners put down ceramic tile but the subfloor is a mess so the tiles literally crack more every time you walk on it! For now we've just put a rug over most of the floor (so you don't hurt your feet!) but we really need to replace and fix the floor this summer.

If our subfloor was fixed, would ceramic tile be durable / not crack? Or is there another type of tile that would be better? I don't love most vinyl but I know that obviously would be the most durable! Ideally I'm looking for something that if I drop my hairdryer on it won't shatter!
