So lo is 8 months old and sleeps in her room in a crib. She mostly sttn but can be loud and will sometimes babble. We have a video monitor and it is by my husband. Ever since moving her to her room at 4 months I've had trouble. I watch the monitor and wake up at ever cough, sneeze, and roll. So I started wearing ear plugs. I can still hear her cry but it helps me sleep. I feel so guilty. Basically I'm looking for people to tell me it's okay, and I'm not doing anything wrong.

You could also maybe turn down the volume of the monitor a bit?

I wear earplugs every night because I'm a light sleeper. I still hear the girls when they wake but it gives me a little help staying asleep

I wore earplugs a TON with E. And I have a newborn now and sleep with one earplug at night to drown out his grunts and little noises that keep me up.

Its okay! I'm a super light sleeper and have slept with earplugs most of my LOs life. I still wake up if he is really crying.

DH is a super light sleeper, and has worn earplugs ever since he started college over 15 yrs ago. He still does now that we have Q. He is normally the one that will wake up first and get him (and bring him to me if he's hungry) if he starts crying, but he's able to sleep through the normal sleep noises. No need to feel bad, a well-rested parent is better able to see to their child's needs.

You're totally fine! We just don't use a monitor at all anymore.

That's fine! I wear earplugs to minimize the impact of DH's snoring. I can still hear E when she wakes.

Your ok, I realized that if DD cries in her room, the cry as come get me I hear her instantly....so the monitor is on but volume is off, I just started doing this and we both sleep much better!!!!

I wear earplugs every night. I am a light sleeper. I can still hear my kids if they are crying or even just babbling but it helps dampen noise so i can fall asleep.

I wear earplugs off and on and I've never had a problem hearing LO when she needed me.

DH and I used to switch off on who got to wear ear plugs at night (or for which stretch of the night). It definitely helped us sleep better!

I sometimes wear earplugs due to hubby's snoring with no issues. We also have an air purifier in our room that gives some nice white noise and prevents small noises on the baby monitor from waking me up.
