For us it was probably during the 5th month - still sleeping a lot, not moving tons but smiley and happy.

I would say it was a chunk of months, probably 5-8 months. Right between the sleep regressions. lol

I would say, months 2.5-6? She started sttn around 1.5/2months and was sleeping around 10 hours at a time that stretch.
She wasn't mobile so I could get things done. I found the hardest the last few as sleepig tanked and now she's so mobile!

I'd say right now, 10 months. She's on a great 1 nap schedule that allows us plenty of time to get out & about, she's eating well and she's happy playing by herself for 20 minutes at a time and can crawl to get at whatever she wants.

3 months. She was EBF so I didn't have to deal with other food, she was sleeping through the night, she would happily tag along anywhere we went, and I was still on maternity leave. Life was easy back then!

I'd say around 2-3 months. Right when he started sleeping longer stretches, but I was still on maternity leave and EBF, so we were in our groove and I wasn't stressed about pumping or working or daycare! C'est la vie!

I would say generally the first year after 6 months. I think it had more to do with me adjusting to parenthood than anything about her behavior/development, though.

For us things got easier and more fun the older DD was. I remember right around 1 year as being a great time.

@Adira: yes! she was way less fun back then, but sleeping and eating SO WELL and way less mobile, so momma had way more free time (and no work!)

Definitely around 9-10 months when she started STTN but wasn't overly mobile yet.

5 months. Could sit up on her own but wasn't mobile yet. Still EBF so didn't have to mess with solids (I seriously have no idea why some people are in a rush to start solids...they are a pain!).

Easiest was around six months- she was sitting up and could entertain herself with her toys, but not crawling so I could put her down and know she would stay in roughly the same spot. That's also when she got on a more predictable two nap schedule. Really it was 6-9 months, until she started crawling which is so fun but a lot harder.
However I think she gets more fun and I enjoy her more and more with every stage, even if she isn't as easy.
I'm shocked at people who say any time less than four months was easy. That just was not easy in this house!

5-6, she always slept good but that was before she really got into her major stomach issues.

9 - 12 Months has been some of the most awesome times of our lives!!! Love it!

So far 6 months is in the lead for the poll. Both of mine got big stranger danger around 6 months and even fussed for grandparents holding them. They backed off severe stranger danger after a month but by that point they were dangerous babies with mobility.

DH and I both think 9 months is when things got easier with R. She finally went on a 2 nap schedule. She was all over the place crawling/crusing but she just got so fun.

I would definitely say 5 months. Not mobile yet, not eating solids yet, happy to be with whoever is holding her, still SSTN for another month, able to set her down and have her still be there when I return...

I would say 9-12 months. On 2 naps consistently, sleep was very good, starting to be more independent.

@.twist.: @NovBaby1112: Loved 9-12! He was sleeping, interacting, and so much fun!

LO was very easy baby. I think everything under a year was easy. The real adventure starts at 2.

9-12 for sure. I hated the newborn stage. I loved when he became mobile and his personality really started shine. He is fun and funny and we have a blast together. The solid sleep habits didn't hurt, either!

@grizz: @NovBaby1112: Yes! and at this point there is little to no discipline! He's only just learning what he can and cannot do and now he's starting to test boundaries! But between 9 - 12, he was just in awe of everything!

11-12, definitely. Her sleep FINALLY started to improve a little and the better sleep (for me) made me better able to handle everything else going on in our lives.

@littlek: I have a 3 year old too. But right now my 9 month old requires lots more of everything, the whole experience is an adventure

It's all a blur but I voted ten months. He was crawling, interactive, and in a pretty good routine.

@NovBaby1112: @grizz: My LO just turned 9 months and I love watching her personality come out, she's a hilarious little thing. But she's stressing me out with her climbing, pulls herself up and tries to scale everything and just is such a wiggler when we're out and about.

@Maysprout: I think it's my payback for him being such an easy baby.
squash / 13764 posts
I think 9 months. He was eating a ton of different finger foods, he was crawling and SO happy about it, and was just really fun! Sleep sucked, but that was true the whole 1st year
pineapple / 12566 posts
For DS, closer to a year. He was a difficult baby. For DD, she has been a very easy baby in comparison, but 0-3 months all she did was sleep and eat and she rarely cried!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
He's only 5 months but I would call this our best month so far! We made it through the sleep regression and even though he doesn't sleep until 6:30am anymore, we're down to just one MOTN wake up and on a good routine. We're really hitting our stride.
pomelo / 5469 posts
@lawbee11: me either, though I admit that was totally me when she was 5 months.
@grizz: @.twist.: @rahlyrah: I know this poll relates to the first year...and I'm loving 9-12 months, but please tell me having a toddler is fun and still kind of easy?
honeydew / 7586 posts
@illumina: Still lots of fun but definitely more challenging. B has recently entered a super fun (sarcasm) "I can do it myself stage." The problem is, most of the time he needs a little helps and freaks the eff out if we try to help him. He also gets really frustrated if he fails at something or if we don't understand what he wants/is asking for. So, we have lots and lots of tantrums. However, 99% of the time we have a blast. He's walking, he actually explores and plays at the playground, he can play pretend and I love watching him use his imagination. It is a new set of challenges but I'm loving (almost) every minute of it!

9-12. Naps got predictable, she's way more interactive and fun. I love it the more expressive and mobile she gets!

I wanna say 6-9 months when he was able to sit up on his own, but wasn't fully mobile.
nectarine / 2973 posts
Around 5 months. That's when she moved to her crib, was down to one night wake up and wasn't mobile yet.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@illumina: Yes, it's definitely still fun! Like @rahlyrah: said, there are a new set of challenges, but it is SO COOL to see them actually sit down and play with toys.
L has a "little people" pirate ship and he takes the characters and puts them on parts of the ship (standing upright, like they're supposed to be!) and he will take out and put in the little cannon ball. It's just so cute. He actually thinks about where to put them and makes sure they're standing up. I mean, I know that doesn't sound terribly exciting, but it is so incredible to watch him learn and think to do that!
