So I'm new to EP'ing and trying to figure out a balance between pumping and output. Basically I already have low supply so LO gets supplemented-- freezer stash is a pipe dream-- and I'm SAH so pumping can be really challenging. DH and I decided that I'll only EP so long as it doesn't stress me out too much with being home alone all the time... which is why we decided I'd pump just 5 times/day rather than 8 and just deal with the consequences of whatever that did to my supply.
Surprisingly my supply didn't drop at all. I pump between 17 and 18 ounces every single day, and it has been 10 days since I dropped to 5 pumps. So it seems (I think?) like my supply is stable at 5 pumps.
I'm curious to try dropping to 4 pumpings and seeing what that does. It seems that for me storage is not my supply issue, but rather how fast I make milk is. Because the longer I wait to pump the more I pump... so I wonder if I would then just pump a bit more at each session but stay around 17-18 oz.
I'm worried about further dropping my supply though, and I'm curious how fast that happens and whether it is generally reversible? So the question is-- as you dropped pumpings (when you were weaning)... if your supply dropped was it immediate? Or did it take a few days at a certain number of pumps for your supply to drop? And if you ever tried to go back up, did you make more again?
If your output goes down you can always add one back
