I believe the weight limit is across the board 45 pounds. I have definitely worn heavier babies on my front in it without issue. Do you want to maybe post a photo of you wearing it to see if someone can offer a suggestion on how to adjust to make it more comfortable?

Personally, I need to make sure it is hiked up pretty high and that I have all the straps pulled snug to get a comfortable fit. When I let anything sag or sit too loose I get uncomfortable quickly.

I second the photo request. I wear dd (25#) in the who with no discomfort and I'm 18 weeks pg. I'd bet you could adjust it for a better carry.

I would keep trying different back carry adjustments honestly; I couldn't handle LO on my front for too long once he got close to 20 lbs!

Are you petite? My baby's the same size and I can't wear her in the ergo comfortably either. I think I am too short for it to really work for me. DH still wears the ergo without a problem.

@avivoca: have you tried pulling the waist band up a bit? More level with the floor.

@avivoca: I have a short torso too. It puts DD up a little high but I've never had back pain from wearing her. P.S. you two are too cute!!

We are the exact same height and weight, DD is also 18 pounds (but she's 4.5 months so probably shorter). I have to wear her pretty high to be comfortable, the strap is more at my waist than hips.

We still wear our 16 month old on the front in the ergo, but it's less comfortable as she gets older. We use a wrap more often, but I've heard that Tulas are more comfortable for older babies too.

I agree, higher and tighter! Also, I recently got a Tula...OMG, awesome.

I think the second pic looks much more comfortable for you both. You could try a hip carry too in the ergo--I haven't figured it out yet, but there are several YouTube videos you can watch.
