I have had zero luck selling things and I end up donating them or giving them to friends with younger babies. I have a few nicer things from Tea that I'm going to try to sell on the Tea BST sites, but I don't even know if it's worth it.

I use two places:
Local Facebook mom group/buy and sell(very local, our town is a square mile but super densely populated). I be sure to post my location so people aren't put off by going out of their way. This is how I sell gear. I also post a price, condition, disclose any imperfections, and take a ton of good pictures. If I'm buying i will pass something by because of poor pics, poor lighting, dirty, etc.

Poshmark: Its ridiculously simple to sell clothes and accessories/shoes. I tend to sell randomly on poshmark; you have to make it worth the buyers while because shipping for the buyer is like $5.99. So I tend to sell higher end brand name stuff like tea, boden, patagonia, etc. Or bundles of mid to low range stuff like carters, gap, etc. I just sold a bundle of 4 fleece buntings yesterday. (buyers can buy multiple things from you and you can set a discount they can get for buying three or more items). Poshmark emails you a label and you slap it on any old box or bag you have laying around.
I generally set my prices pretty low just to get stuff sold. At a certain point people are only going to pay so much for used baby stuff (ex: gap, since people can get gap brand new at 40-50% off pretty much always). But the higher end sought after stuff and brands I mark up a little because i know it will sell.

Also, for gear, you need to list a price. Because as I buyer I'd look at your post and think "well I have no idea if she is expecting $100 or $25 for that dock a tot and I aint got time for messing with that". I tend to list my gear for lower than what other stuff is listed for because I don't want flakes; I don't want to negotiate on a few dollars. I want someone to see a screaming deal and buy it asap. Also take good pictures and save any correspondence if its like, a stroller, because people are crazy and be like..."you didn't tell me about this minute scratch I want my money back"

For stuff I can't get rid of I find a charity and take the tax write off.

I'm a first time mom in a rural area with a pretty meager Craigslist/Facebook marketplace, and right now I'm obessed with the app Mercari to buy gently used baby stuff.

It's pretty much like what @littlebit7 described--pick a price, wait for it to sell, then print out a label and mail it. On the seller end, it seems like a lot less work than having to deal with flaky buyers or taking time out of your schedule to meet up with random strangers. It's also really easy to search so yu can bundle your stuff or price it competatively.

I always had good luck selling stuff where we used to live, but you have to know your market. Nicer brands tend to sell faster, and I admit that we “invested” in some nicer items knowing we would be able to recoup costs later. For example, back when I was pregnant with LO2, I wanted to buy a Bjorn bouncer and I was looking at them 2nd hand, but they were only 30% less than retail. So I bought a new one, we used it and then I listed it for 30% less than retail like everybody else and sold it the 1st day. I sold our Bugaboo for almost half of what we paid for it (and it was 4 years old!). I used a local FB moms buy/sell group and if that didn’t work, I would list on a site similar to Craigslist. Agree with others about looking for similar goods and pricing them accordingly.

I sell clothing on Kidizen. It's an app. I've done really well on it and it's super simple to use.

I sell gear on my work's classifieds or on the Letgo app. I always set a price but almost always someone negotiaties. So I set the price at my "ideal" and then just know in my head how low I'm willing to go.

Yeah, I basically do a quick scan of craigslist & NextDoor to see what similar/same items are posted for, as well as how prevalent they are.

Things like boppies, bumbos, etc I have just put out at our curb since they sell for cheap, there are a ton of them, and we more than got our use (3 kids over 5y!).

Other things that were more expensive, aren't as worn (only 1 or 2 kids used it), and/or are less frequently on those sites, I will price higher. Depending on how fast I want them to be gone, I typically go 50% what I paid or less.

Honestly, if I feel like someone is super low-balling me, I'd rather just donate it and take the good karma

I've had good experience with EBay for things that are small enough to package and mail. I don't usually sell for close to what the stuff cost, but not pennies either, and sales are usually quick. I'm OK with selling it cheap so someone gets some use from it... if I just haul it to the local consignment store (which is far away and has weird hours) they just resell it anyway.
