We are having DS's friend birthday party next weekend, its just for 2 hours, 11-1, at our house. We are doing pizza and cupcakes for food, but I need one or two ideas of activities we can do in case just playing in our house gets them out of control. 
He's turning 4, there will be 4 girls and 1 boy plus some baby siblings.
What have been your (and your kids) favorite birthday party games or activities, either at parties you've hosted or parties you've attended?

Recently at a Christmas party the kids absolutely loved playing hide and seek. It was easy enough for the kids to figure out who would be next finding the others.

We've done pin the tail on the donkey type game, and freeze dance for that age. Also agree with obstacle course!

Bouncy house is my kids favorite by far, but maybe not an option in the winter. I also like freeze dance.

We had small friend birthdays last year, like what you are describing. We had a face painter come, and we had a piñata and "pin the tail on the mermaid". Between that and eating pizza/pasta and having cake, there wasn't much time for anything else. We had about 4 friends plus their little siblings, so probably 8 kids total.
Oh, it was summer, so I had a baby pool and water table/water guns set up on our balcony. So the kids did that, then came in for face painting and food/cake and we ended with the piñata. It didn't get crazy at all, and we live in a small space. Oh and we had this toddler bouncy house set up.
