What are your favorite generic products that work just as well (if not better than) their name brand counterpart(s)?

HEB brand flavored sparkling water - just as good as La Croix and 2/3 the price. (Thanks to a fellow TX HBer for getting me started on that.)

At Target I buy mostly Up&Up products and most have been just fine!

@snowjewelz: agreed- the one thing I've not liked is their dishwasher detergent!

I seldom buy brand name icecream, usually opting for the store brand.
@LBee: I also always bought Kirkland diapers and wipes, why waste money on something more expensive?

@ldh112: Oh haha I use that too! But I've never really used any other brands. I did recently buy Cascade tho, so maybe I will notice a difference!
I love their face scrub that's supposed to be like the St Ives one!

Up&Up diapers/wipes (awesome), butter, apple juice, cheese, Kroger pasta/meat, etc.

I don't know if this counts but I do a lot of our shopping at trader joe's and it's all store brand.

I actually really like Target's Market Pantry mac n cheese in the box!
Most of the time, I can't tell or don't care about the subtle differences in store brand foods, except for during pregnancy when my senses are in hyperdrive. I had some store brand corn flakes and was so sad they weren't Kellogg's after one bite I couldn't eat them again. This pregnancy, I want allll the name brand cereals!
We use our Costco membership a LOT so we often don't have to sacrifice name brands, though. Their paper towels and toilet paper are great. Although we are a Pampers family (DH is adamant), the store bought brand we liked best was Up and Up diapers. We also like Up and Up for just about everything else.
Trader Joe's sparkling water is pretty much the best ever. That mixed berry flavor is deliiiishhhhussss. And TJ's almond and coconut milks are great too, and depending on sales are cheaper than Silk or Almond Breeze.

TJs face lotion and soap. I actually prefer it to expensive brands.

@mrs.shinerbock: HEB sparkling water is the BEST!!! I actually can't drink LaCroix anymore because I like HEB so much more.

Target and Costco are the two I have found there store brand to be great. No specific products necessarily - I have just generally been impressed with both.
Meijer (our local grocery chain) also has a lot of great generic options. Their spaghetti sauce is my life line for last minute meal options!

Costco for the win on so many things - TP, paper towels, olive oil, strawberry jelly, laundry detergent, dishsoap....

I live in Austria and the pickings are very slim compared to what I knew in the US. I buy a TON of grocery store brand items because the grocery store brand makes fairly high quality, organic, reasonably priced everything. Sometimes the grocery store brand is the only brand of a particular product.

I love the Target diapers. I don't know everyone doesn't use that instead of the more expensive brand names. I think it absorbs well, and I like the tabs closures better.
I generally love Costco brand anything. I buy a lot of their active wear. It is a fraction of the price of the brand names, and I like the styles.

@Pumpkin Pie: we switched to target diapers too- I don't love the pattern but the cost is pretty hard to beat - even with coupons for more expensive brands!

I like a lot of the Archer Farms products at Target - their salsa verde is a go-to (for store bought salsa it's pretty great). Private Selection products at Kroger are also fairly consistent. They have a Tikka Masala simmer sauce that is amazing for nights you want to cook something super simple! It's actually on par with homemade sauces I've cooked.

@ldh112: I actually ended up trying it for the pattern. I was getting tired of plain white.
For my next child, I'll also be trying the Up & Up formula. I spent a fortune buying the name brand!

I like a lot of the Whole Foods 365 brand - esp the almond milk.
