I’m looking for suggestions for useful goodie bag favors. I really don’t want to buy junk or candy (who really needs that). I loved that one of my son’s friends gave out cute Contigo water bottles. Any fun ideas? The kids will be ages 2-7 and my DS is turning 5. TIA!

YES! I also saw a blog post where people gave out water bottles and it seemed genius. Depends how much you want to spend I guess. I thought of maybe band-aids? Kids love those, right? A book? We are doing artsy cookies - like one per kid cause it's not junk candy and I feel like edible is better than crap toys. They are $3/each. A friend is making them for the party!

@Alba4: Is there a theme to the party? Targets $1 section has a lot of cute things you could use I have seen all sorts of favors from giant bubbles to a reusable character cup filled with popcorn.

I suggest this every time, but superhero masks and capes. You can buy sets from Amazon for pretty cheap and they were a HUGE hit for us.

@Alba4: we did those characters cups, from target or amazon or the grocery store, and filled with a little candy, fruit snack, stickers, a pencil and a little coloring book or maze or something.

@wrkbrk: I ordered cookies too - they are between $3-5, depending on the design - if I do the paint pallet one, that’s $5.
I’ve ordered melissa and Doug on the go items - like the water wow, coloring books, etc in bulk for favors before. Those were a hit too!

I ordered individually wrapped big rice krispies on a stick that had frosting and sprinkles from the same place I got her cake. LO's party was at a paint place so they got to take home their painted figurines too.

We did tutus or super hero capes and i know the capes where a hit last year.
This year I did more of a regular goody bag but i got crayons in the target back to school section for super cheap- 25 cents for a 24 pack!- and I tied them up with a little blank notebook, because my daughter loves notebooks and “Writing stories” and drawing pictures in them. I did add some little snacks and stickers because kids love junk.

Superhero masks and/or capes will be a huge hit!
Also bouncy balls, matchbox cars, stamps, stickers, temporary tattoos, whistles, coloring books, etc.

I am going to go against the grain, superhero masks and a cape would not be a big hit with my son or his friends. They aren't into superheros, but are aware of them and wouldn't turn down a favor, but it wouldn't be the best thing ever.

I like to do something that the kids can play with or do during the party and then take with them. We did little stuffed dogs and decorated collars for them for a puppy party (beads and cheapy puppy collars/dogs from Amazon). We also did decorate your own crowns for a princess party (foam crowns with stick-on jewels, markers, etc). And did a treasure chest pinata for a mermaid-pirate party that had plastic jewels/necklaces, eye patches and some edible things like gummy and snack packs to fill a goody bag.
I also think my kid would LOVE the superhero mask/cape and it would fit my bill of something they can play with during the party and afterwards at home.

I think a non-branded cape would be great- it can be an open ended toy for the dress up bin later on.

@erinbaderin: Yes!! My ODD received a mask as a party favor a few months ago, and it went into the dress up bin. She still pulls it out sometimes. It was something I didn’t mind keeping!

Yes to superhero capes and masks! We have 2 sets from favors and lo1 uses them for dress up all the time.
Also art supplies are always a winner. Recently we had a favor that included a huge selection of bandaids that both my kids went nuts over lol but they’re a bit younger!oh finger puppets are good too
