I stopped them for a little while when my older daughter was newly potty trained, but she liked them and went back to them. She could also unzip them by herself to pee by that point. But in the beginning I did only use two piece.

My younger one just potty trained and has one super cute one piece pajama that she loves so I still let her wear it but only after I’ve put on the diaper for the night and I change her first thing in the morning (otherwise she hangs out in pjs for a little longer).

Two-piece PJs were briefly useful (when the amount of warning before an accident was seconds rather than minutes). My LO (3y4m) can hold it for a long time now, but, still can't readily unzip himself. He also won't take himself to the bathroom alone in the middle of the night, so, it doesn't matter. I expect by the time he's willing to go alone, he'll be good enough at unzipping/zipping.

Oh! Also for those who don’t like the “footsies” as we call them, we use 1 piece footless fleece jams from carter’s. They are great bc my guy is super lanky so I don’t have to worry about the length and we can put whatever socks on that we want. Keeps that little belly warm and covered but keeps the feet free!

My potty trained 3 yo still wears one piece jammies. He doesn’t go in the night and when he wakes up in the morning he tells me when he has to pee so I’ll help him. He’s coordinated enough to unzip and get out of them but I’m not sure he could get back in.
