What about booties? They should stay on better than socks. Maybe something like this?

We got these mocs at that age. Stayed on great with our without socks. They're super cute and we got tons of compliments. I'm not spending $50 on a pair of mocs for a baby that will grow out of them in 2 months

or Target Surprize by Stride Rite -- these are very similar to our favorite pair. She wore the heck out of them! Plus they match almost everything.

At that stage you only need a bootie type (Robeez) soft soled shoe. As she starts to progress you can get a flexible sole from Stride Rite.

GAP socks have the gripper are thick and stay on. If your LO is not walking yet I'd recommend just having her wear socks. Our LO's first shoes were Pedipeds and we always had our son wear them with thin non-GAP brand. We only used them when he was outdoors.

@babypugs: Mine still wear 0-6M.

I loved moccasins when they are first started to walk since it feels like barefoot. Freshly picked was way too expensive but Easy made some a lot less expensive.
