@mrswin: @momazon: @fliegepilzhut: i was SO set on on not poas, but i caved a couple hours ago and took one. STARK white is it too early to throw in the towel? i still want to be optimistic, but it's pretty discouraging at this point so late in the 2ww. i drank a lot of water before so it was really diluted, but still..feels like so many people get their bfps early on with ivf. i wish i just stuck to my word and waited till my beta, but then again, if i don't get good news, then maybe it's better that i was prepared. i also told dh i tested and he was very disappointed in me. ugh, i swear this whole journey is so tough. some days i feel so strong and other days i feel like a complete failure.

@mama2em: Argh. We're a bad influence. Are you 10 days post-3dt? It is still early...but I honestly don't know the earliest that ladies have had positive tests. I'm so sorry for the let-down, but I don't think you're out of the running yet! Sending love, hugs, and good thoughts!

ETA: You are SO strong...hang in there!

@FliegepilzHut: no not at all, it was my own doing! Today I am 10dp3dt. I couldn't sleep last night, thinking about the possibility that this cycle wasnt successful. I'll know for sure soon enough. I guess I'm thankful that I have a heads up though. This is all so tough.

@mama2em: You are a tough lady and don't beat yourself up for testing, it is soooo hard to wait for an answer. You never know what will show up on the beta, I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you

Hi ladies, just wanted to update you that this cycle was not successful for me. Now I'm happy that I poas just as a heads up. Wanted to thank you all for your support during this time, it's meant so much to me.

After speaking with my re, I decided to jump right back into another cycle. The thought of taking time off only to go through this again at a later time sounds like too much. Has anyone had back to back cycles with the 2nd cycle being better than the first? As you know, this cycle was horrible for me bc I responded so badly to the meds so im hoping that this was just a bad month. I will most likely be doing another protocol- not sure what it will be since I have to wait for af to come and go in for my baseline.

@mama2em: I'm so sorry. What words of wisdom did your RE have? I don't have any experience, although depending on the outcome of my upcoming FET, I may decide to cycle again in the spring. Take whatever time you need to process. Hugs to you and your DH!

    ETA: Walled you!

@mama2em: I'm so sorry! I did two back to back cycles and my 2nd cycle was much better than my first. I got my bfn at the tail end of June and started Lupron in August. my ER and ET were in September. First cycle I got a bfn and none to freeze. Second cycle I got a bfp and 7 to freeze on day 6. Much better! I took the same medications, but she started me on my higher finishing dose from cycle 1, and kept me steady on that dose the whole time. It made all the difference for me. Don't lose hope!

@FliegepilzHut: my re said she thinks i had a bad month and that she was surprised/disappointed with how things turned out. i don't know if something could have been done differently in the earlier stages to have had a better outcome, but i'm hoping she does the right thing for me and we'll get a better response this time around. i'm scared though- my worst fear is that the exact same thing will happen this time around and that ivf will never work for me.

@sunshine1810: thank you for your feedback! so encouraging to hear you had a better response the 2nd time around. i will try to remain hopeful, but i def. have some fears going into all of this again. i'm worried also that changing protocol might not be the right thing to do, if really last cycle was just a bad month? i don't know how re's decide these things...so hard to just put all your faith in one person...

@mama2em: I've been following along. I'm so sorry about this cycle.

Something I just thought about, have you considered looking into finding an accupunturist that specializes in fertility? I have been seeing one for over two years and I'm currently in my first IVF cycle. She treats me weekly but during my injections she likes to see me twice a week.

You should look into it. I love accupunture and swear by it for overall general wellness and stress reduction.

@bluestriped bee: i saw an acupuncturist in the beginning of the year when we were trying on our own and then decided to move on to IUI. i saw her for 5 months. i had insurance for acupuncture, but only for 20 visits, so when those ran out, i just decided to stop going. after speaking with my re though after my failed ivf cycle, she asked me if i did acupuncture and i explained my situation, and she said it might be worth it to do it for this next cycle. i got a recommendation from her and saw the acupuncturist this past saturday. i will do it for the ivf cycle. i know it probably won't have maximum benefits at this point since i haven't been doing it for a long time, but hoping it'll help me stim better and develop some more follicles this time around. now i wish i continued with the acupuncture, but too late for regrets

Hi ladies, I've been putting off posting for awhile because I'm so nervous and new to this. I have a little girl who just turned 12 months. She was conceived naturally after two miscarriages. When we had her, I never went back on birth control because I figured if, at 41, I was lucky enough to get pregnant again, I'd be happy. I never did get pregnant and so now, having just turned 42, I'm turning to IVF. I've just finished my starter meds, the estradiol, testerone patch and birth control pill. I'll get my period in a couple of days and then start my stims. I'm not expecting much. But I'd love it if we were blessed with another baby. We'll probably do three IVF cycles before we give up. I'm so happy we have one little girl, I feel like a greedy bear for wanting a sibling for her. Nevertheless, we'll give this a go and see how it turns out. Just sharing my story and coming out of the lurking closet. And wishing you all sticky babies and happiness.
