I've had a leesa for a few months now and love it. No box spring. There are so many different foam ones now, and it basically came down to which one had the best Black Friday deal at the time.

@hellobeeboston: well we got a new bed frame as well (upgraded to a king) and it's pretty high so it ended up being about the same height as our old mattress + box spring. Great support!

We have the Leesa. We were originally going to get the Casper but I think the Leesa might have been cheaper? We've had it for about a year and its right on top of our old box spring. We like it so far! I tend to like more of a firm bed and my DH likes a little softer but the leesa seems to be a happy medium for both of us.

We got a leesa last year when I was pregnant and sleeping horribly and I love it.

We just got a tuft and needle and love it,. Plus we ordered through Amazon using our Amazon card so we got 5% back.

We purchased a Casper mattress and ended up returning it after 50 days. I wanted to love it so bad!! I felt like I was sleeping in quick sand and it started to kill my back. There is a initial smell when you first open the box that's suppose to go away - it didn't for us. My husband also got very hot sleeping on it. I'd say try it out - you can always return it! Oh and to return the mattress we had to schedule the Salvation Army to pick it up. Then fax Casper the receipt.

We have a Casper and we love it! We don't use a box spring. We plan to get my in-laws one too.

We have a Tuft & Needle and are fans. It's on a platform bed with no box spring. We first bought a Yogabed and returned it because it was too soft for my husband and too hot for me. (The top layer of the Yogabed is memory foam.)

The return policy is actually a donation. They arrange for a charity to pick up the mattress. It must be in absolutely perfect condition so if you plan to exercise the return policy you must take excellent care of the mattress.

I assume they price them such that the corporate tax deduction for the charitable donation is equal to the cost of the mattress, but I could be wrong.

Is there a difference between the foam mattresses you all are describing versus memory foam? Or are these all memory foam?

I'm looking at some of the foam mattress options on Wayfair etc but they all seem to use the phrase "memory foam." DH and I have always hated memory foam, are these different than that?

I compared the online options on a mattress expert's website. Apparently the Casper is the most firm, but I really liked that it is mostly made in the US. My husband loves our Casper, though he prefers a firm mattress. It's a little too firm for me. I added padding to my side.
