Do you worry about your LO's food consumption when they get sick? My LO has a fever and she hasn't eaten much all day and won't drink water...she just wants to be held! She drank 2 ounces of milk but threw up shortly afterwards.

Have you tried offering pedialyte to try keeping her hydrated? I think the doctor wants 3 pees a day when looking for dehydration.

I am having the same problem right now. DH made chicken soup on Sunday and she has been eating bits of that. Best so far has actually been green smoothies. She drinks those up like a champ.

same problem with olive, but she nurses so i don't worry as much. she drank a ton of barley tea today. she usually loves soups but hasn't been eating them.
just keep her hydrated. they won't have much of an appetite when they're sick, and it's ok.

@autumnlove: hmmm it sounds like a stomach bug, between the throwing up, not eating and fever. How long has it been since she was able to keep fluids down?

@autumnlove: I don't want to scare you, but you might need to go to the ER and get her fluids if she can't keep anything down. I really hope she feels better soon

@BabyBoecksMom: She drank water and milk around 8am this morning...before daycare!

@autumnlove: oh man, that's a long time w/o fluids Hopefully she'll be able to keep that down. But if she doesn't, call her doctor and see what they say. Hopefully they'll just tell you to give her pedialite. When we took her to the ER, they had us feed her an oz, then wait 30 min and see if she kept it down. If she did, just feed her small amounts until her fever broke. And then feed her on demand, but waiting at least 30 min before trying it again if she threw up.
Sorry you're going through that Try to keep your distance though, because you don't need that while you're pregnant.
