I've done it on bathroom floors (on top of the changing pad) and in top of the toilet lid. You do what you gotta do!

Eta I wouldn't change lo in a restaurant chair, I personally think that's gross if people are eating right there...

I second the bathroom floor- as bad as it is to kneel on the floor, as baby gets bigger there's no way you'll be able to change them on your lap. Might as well get used to it from the start.

I've done the bathroom floor countless times, but some are too gross, even with a pad underneath. When we lived in NYC, my main places were Barnes and Noble, Whole Foods, babies r us/buy buy baby, some of the baby gaps have restrooms, department stores, park benches when it was warm enough. You could probably slip into a hotel too. They might not have changing stations, but the floor would be cleaner than a restaurant floor.

We changed in the stroller a few times too when we were sure it wasn't poo.

I haven't had to change my son in public yet (he's only a month old) but I've noticed that the Starbucks in NYC all have changing stations. That will probably be my go to spot. I would not feel comfy using tables/booths in restaurants.

I change her in the stroller. I absolutely wouldn't do a bathroom floor cause she flips and touches everything, and I can't wrangle her legs, bum AND keep her hands out of her mouth haha.

I'd also try to find a changing room if possible
