I've been in this huge fruit kick for the past two months. It started out by getting white nectarines from Costco for two weeks straight. I have no idea what the box looks like. I need to find the Costco receipt. I recently started going to a local farmers market to get my fruit, so maybe I missed the recalled fruit.
Anyway, the articles posted don't show what the recall items look like. Here is a link from the company being recalled.
http://www.wawonapacking.com/Packstyles.pdf
Summary:
Wawona Packing Company of Cutler, Calif, is recalling certain lots of whole peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots for potential contamination with Listeria monocytognes. The fruits were sold at a number of stores including Costco, Sam’s Club and Trader Joe’s.
The recalled fruit was packed between June 1, 2014 through July 12, 2014

Ahhhh! The peaches from costco have been so good this year and I have been indulging in a lot of them! We just polished off a box of them this weekend but I have no idea if my box looked like that and I'm pregnant. I guess if I had a tainted box I would have gotten sick by now?

@sandy: You would have definitely gotten sick by now... I think the affects happen within a day. I think you are in the clear.

@sandy: I have read that the incubation period can be 30 days or more. I called my Raley's and they said that the risk was really low from their particular store and they gave me the exact dates that they had the tainted peaches and nectarines. Give Costco a call, they can probably get lots of info.
My (30 weeks) sis' store was considered high risk and she is on antibiotics for a couple weeks, has to do fetal stress tests biweekly for the rest of her pregnancy and has to see a perinatal doctor.

I got a call from Costco yesterday. DH and I have been buying nectarines from Costco for over a month now. and I'm currently pregnant. I have no clue if we've eaten any of the tainted fruit.
Does anyone know if the bacteria lives on the outside of the fruit? And does washing it wash it off?

@simplyfelicity: I will do that! Thank you! I just looked up the UPC and it doesn't match the one listed for costco but I'm going to call to make sure

Ok, so get this... Just as I was reading this thread I got a call from a 1-888 number alerting me about this recall! I will definitely have to go home & see how many of the nectarines I bought we have left.

@Shutterbug: we got a call from wegmans too, but we'd finished all our peaches, so I hope we didn't have tainted ones I selfishly ate a lot at night after LO was asleep, so I'm grateful for that at least.

We've been buying the white peaches from Costco every week for a month now! The 2 empty crates we have sitting at home don't match the code they gave on the automated call, but I don't know if I should eat any of the remaining peaches we have! Almost a full dozen... and I'm pregnant, arghh

I get my stone fruit (which I've been eating since they appeared in the produce section this summer) from Kroger (which was on the distribution list along with TJ's and Costco. I called my store and they said they pulled all of their nectarines, plums, peaches, etc. But then I looked at some of the plums I still had, and checked out the little label on them. There was a website, so I went to it and called the number and asked if they were the ones being recalled, and luckily they were safe! I'm so happy I called and discovered that I can still eat them!

If you have eaten any of these stone fruits and are pregnant, I would call your provider. It's not worth the risk. I'm still waiting for a call back, but I think there's a blood test that can be done.
I'm worried sick.

We have been buying the peaches from Costco for awhile, and I've been feeding them to LO. I have no idea if they were the tainted ones because I threw the box away.
I'm hoping this recall is just out of caution, and there aren't any actual reported cases of listeria.

@allison: I hope you are ok!
@Pepper: I know, I only have one peach left from a big box!

@autumnlove: We had 4 left! We rarely even eat peaches, but they have been so good this summer. Boo!
