They run very, very small.
I just wanted to warn you new mom's or soon to be mom's. I have my 3 1/2 month old in a 18 month Gerber onesie right now. I have so many Gerber onesie's that she didn't even get to wear because they're just too darn small! She wears 6 month for everything else. So when your sorting your clothes, make sure you check the brand and get those Gerber clothes to the front!

Good tip! I bought all these Gerber onesies that were itty bitty and I barely got any use out of them. I was probably too busy at the time to return them so it was just a waste of money.

@Andrea: I know! I insisted on having newborn clothes, and I bought newborn Gerber onesies. They say on them something like 5-8 lbs. My baby was born 8 lbs. 13 oz... so she never fit into them! And of course I also insisted on washing them before she was born so they'd be ready, so I couldn't take them back. Annoying!

I agree. My little girl was born at 6-1/2 lbs and then lost a couple ounces in the hospital and for a baby she has a smaller head, she's 28th percentile for head circumference. We never were able to get the newborn onsies over her head.

Very good tip! I was planning on stocking up on these soon and thought to only buy 0-3 months, even though DH was 8.5 lb baby at birth.

We don't have the Gerber onesies, but we love their t-shirts. Little M wears one every day as an undershirt since she gets cold so easily. I find those are pretty stretchy and true-to-size.

I agree that Gerber runs VERY small. I bought her the 2 pack of Fleece zip up PJs. The price is great and they have the non slip feet, but they shrank a ton in the dryer. She's 15 pounds and already out of the size 6 months

My LO has been wearing 6 months clothes since 2 1/2 months. I feel like they should do it another way, like put the weight on them instead. If babies understood the sizing it would be sure to give them eating disorders! Babies are just so different, it doesn't make sense the way they have it.
@Andrea: I'm convinced that I'll never have a baby small enough for Gerber newborn clothes. My hubby was a big baby, and I think I was just meant to have big babies!

@artbee: That's a good point! Little M is super long (like her dad), but I always refer to the measurements in length and weight. The Gerber t-shirts are the only thing that we don't worry about length because she wears it as an udershirt. Ha.

I agree. My LO is on the border of 0-3 and 3-6, and he's wearing 6-9 months in Gerber onesies.

I think I had one package of Gerber onesies, no idea what size they were. I prefer the ones from Carters, they seem to hold their shape better after washing.
My 11 month old is in size 18 months in Carters, but I've found baby sizing to be all over the map. It's annoying, isn't it?

Agreed, for us, the Gerber onesies were useless, and I unfortunately had a ton of them.

Really? I always found them to be too big... My daughter was able to wear 3-6 months till she was like 18 months lol.

Heard about this, I think I'm going with Carters. Seem to be better quality anyway.
