Did you get a gift to/from your new baby to LO1? What did you get? How old was your LO1?
Looking for suggestions/ideas!

LO2 "bought" LO1 a jellycat bunny -- when my parents brought LO1 in to visit and meet the baby, they had a gift 'from' her to the baby. she got a small stuffed doll from carter's and I think an outfit or onesie. hard to remember ha!
we also got LO1 a cupcake to celebrate the baby's birthday

We skipped it.
DD1 was almost two and the baby arrived between Christmas and her birthday. All of our guests brought gifts so for a long while after she expected presents when we had company.
Looking back I glad we didn't because another gift wouldn't have registered. -
Our 1st brought his new baby sister a small stuffed animal and a balloon.
Our new LO gave big brother a V-tech learning pad
DS was 2.5

@Mamaof2: was the v-tech learning pad a hit? Def sounds like a toy DS1 would like!
@oliviaoblivia: def makes sense to have skipped it! I would have also if it was around a holiday/bday.

@oliviaoblivia: @mrsjyw: I had C about two weeks after Christmas. O was kinda over the Christmas buzz by then, but she didn't become attached to the bunny like I had sentimentally hoped bahaha. I think it was more for "me" - she was totally stoked about the chocolate cupcake, though, I'll tell you that!

We're in the same boat as you, but my parents gave me a doctor kit when my sister was born. I was 2.

@mrsjyw: DS1 picked out a stuffed monkey to give his little brother.
DS2 will be giving his big brother a Buzz Lightyear doll. DS1 is obsessssed with Toy Story.

Following! I think I will let A pick out a gift for baby brother (from a pre-approved selection by DH and I). For her present from baby bro, I was thinking of a real "treat" toy, rather than something that focuses on learning, something from one of the shows she likes, like maybe the pirate ship from Jake and the Pirates or something from Bubble Guppies.... But we're still deciding.

Ds got dd (2.5 at the time) an Elsa shirt, a book she really wanted and a bunch of stickers

We did, but I don't think Xander really understood that the gifts were from his brother. He was 21 months. We got him a basketball and hoop set, a teddy bear, and some toy cars. He loves them, but it didn't matter to him where they came from or why he was getting them. They were useful though as a distraction in the hospital when he came to visit though. He wasn't interested in the baby and he was totally freaked out by the IV in my hand, so having stuff to play with was helpful.

I was thinking of getting DS1 some dinosaurs as I know he likes playing with them at school but not sure if that will be necessary. We were definitely planning on making sure that we have a cupcake or mini cake to celebrate DS2's birthday as I think that will register more for him. DS1 loves himself some birthday cake!

We'll probably get lo1 some new stuff and give it to her gradually throughout the newborn phase, but not "to" or "from" the new baby. We'll see though!
