I have been dragging my feet purchasing cloud-based storage to back-up my photos and now I'm glad I waited! Google slashed the price of Google Drive storage to undercut Dropbox and you can now get 1TB of storage for $9.99/month (previously $49/month).

i was paying $20/month for half that amount of storage with google drive. was so happy when i got the email that they would be charging me half as much and i would be getting double the storage!!!
it took me a looooong time, but all my pictures are backed up there. like 300gb!

@snowjewelz: we use a hard drive backup too but what if that crashes???
I feel like I should do google drive or some other online site as well!

@Mamaof2: Ah.. I never really thought about this. I back up to an external hard drive.. Are they known to crash? Or I was thinking just filling stuff in USB drives. Like one drive per year or something?

@snowjewelz: The danger with that is what if you lose/misplace the drive or USB? Or what if it gets stolen?

I wish I had this offer a week ago. My laptop died this past week and I had to send it out to get my files pulled off.

i use an external drive and backblaze that automatically backs up my stuff, but i'll look into google drive too!

Wow what a great improvement! If they did something more like CrashPlan I would probably be more likely to switch.
