I put 10% whole milk in yesterday bottles, babies barely finished half their bottles.
Today tried 5% and DS drank most of his bottle. DD barely had her bottle.
Should I keep giving her the milk? Will she get used to it?
Babies are 13.5 months. I was waiting for them to be 12 months adjusted and I wanted to switch to whole milk when I had a few cans of formula.

Lo was combo fed, so still had breastmilk when we switched from formula to wcm, but we cold turkey cut the formula. Like, ran out of formula and tried just putting 100% milk in a bottle and she took it immediately. But maybe bc she was combo fed she was used to drinking something different anyway? She was always good about switching back and forth...

We did whole milk cold turkey. It took about a week, but DD eventually started drinking the whole cup. She loves milk now.

We did the milk switch cold turkey. That was the method our pediatrician and several parent friends used and suggested.

We made the switch cold turkey when DS1 turned 1. Our daycare also provides milk at that point with breakfast and lunch and that may have helped him adjust quickly.

We also went cold turkey at 11.5 months when I ran out of pumped breast milk. We gave it to her in a sippy or straw cup, though, and never tried to put it in a bottle.
Like @autumnleaves: said, she was also drinking it at daycare at that point.

Same here, cold turkey. T wouldn't drink the half and half. He also wouldn't drink bottles of milk. It made bottle weaning super easy. It was like in his head bottles were for formula and cups were for milk. So we just switched to sippy cups of milk and all was well.

Wow, commenting to follow! We have four weeks from today until we make the switch. I am thinking maybe now we shouldn't mix the milk with formula!
I feel a little bit bad that DS will never again get formula .. he loves his bottles now! Oh well.

I also just offered the milk one day. If they don't drink it at first, you could always follow up with a bottle of formula.

Cold turkey here. Never even tried mixing. DD loves milk a lot more than she did formula!

Never mixed and went cold turkey to milk after we had introduced it.

Also cold turkey - our pediatrician gave the reasoning that if you mix it into their formula then they might just think the formula tastes bad / not right, whereas if you give it to them straight up it's just something different.

We mixed. Transition took a few days. My son never complained and it was a smooth transition.

We need to do this in the next few weeks! For those that put the milk in a cup with a straw, did you feel like it took them forever to drink it that way? And how much do you give? Should we give 6 ounces like her formula bottles and at the same interval?

Oh wow, LO will be 1 next month and I haven't even thought about this. She's combo BM/formula. Has anyone ever given almond milk instead of cow milk?

We just went cold turkey... She didn't have an issue switching between breast and formula so I figured she'd be okay! The only thing was we had to warm up the milk a bit cause she had never had anything straight out of the fridge.

@alphagam84: No, do not give 6 oz. Just put a little in the cup at firsbecause they may not drink it all. And that's ok because once they stop formula they transition to getting their nutrition from solids, not from milk.

We did cold turkey but did it gradually in the sense that we offered milk once a day for a little bit until she would drink it, then did like 50/50 for a few days, then stopped formula all together. We didn't mix.
