We just got LO's new car seat and it's pretty huge. It says that it's ok for air travel.... but like I said, it's huge! I know a lot of people buy a little seat just for travel, but for all I know we'll only be on a plane once so I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. But I'm not excited about lugging it through an airport and then through the streets of NY whenever we decide to ride in a cab.
How did you do traveling with the britax?

We have one but it seems way too huge so we are not bringing it.

Are you buying LO a seat? We usually just check out car seat at the gate and have LO sit on our laps.

@chopsuey119: we bought her a seat. I've read it's safest that way, and I feel like it'll be more comfy for her. Now watch we spend all that money and she wants to sit on my lap....

@Andrea: That's smart. We're still debating on renting a car for a few days because we are going to be in NY and want to go to different areas farther away to visit family. But I'm all about public transportation so we'll see.

@artbee: you aren't required to have a car seat in nyc cabs but not sure if you're comfortable with that. i know you can get a lightweight one for $40 new. maybe you could even get a used one off craigslist? hmmm, trying to think. i wish i still lived in nyc and i could lend you my old infant seat that i'm not using anymore ...

@Andrea: lo's already too big for an infant seat anyway. Id probably freak out the whole time.if lo wasn't in a car seat. That's weird that they don't require them. Ill look into the lightweight stroller, thanks!

@artbee: ah ok, i know people use that thing for ages but i never understood how since LO was too big for it by 6 months. i think $40 is worth spending instead of lugging that boulevard all around. apparently they are super lightweight. i think one of them is called a cosco scenera.

We just switched over but should have before a while ago. Lo is so big! Yes ive heard of the cosco scenera. Didn't realize it was that cheap though!

We have a scenera we use for the airplane, love it! We also have a boulevard but that's a big seat, no way I would navigate an airport with it!
