Has anyone gotten their refund back if you are getting one? We filed our taxes last week and our state was approved but they said they won't start approving or denying federals until Valentintes day. I know it usually takes a while to get the money back even after it is approved but I am just wondering if anyone has gotten their yet?

We haven't even filed yet. We are going on our big vacation in 2 weeks, and we don't want to know that we owe money until after!
(We aren't just burying our heads in the sand, we have the money to pay for anything we owe, we just don't want to deal with it until after our trip. DH's job changed a few times and we have zero confidence that they fixed up his withholdings correctly.)

Nope.... they aren't even ready for "returns like mine" so we aren't expecting our return until early March sometime. (we don't file state taxes here in Texas)

@runsyellowlites: That's what mine originally said: We won't accept returns like yours until March 1. But then last week they sent an email changing the date to Valentines.

We actually got ours super fast. We filed on 1/30, and got the money on 2/8. I guess we are the exception!

Nope, but we just e-filed on Saturday. We are 'supposed' to get a return this year but I will believe it when I see it.

@anonysquire: DH had to submit ours twice because there was a mistake on it, so i'm not sure what day he resubmitted it, but i think it was within a week. i'm sure it depends on the state and how complicated your return is. ours is pretty simple and we used turbo tax & submitted electronically.

Nope, only because I've never gotten one! We finally have some deductions this year because we bought a home, but we're in such a high tax bracket I feel like the IRS will find a way to not give us our refund.

We filed 1/14 it was accepted 1/30 and we had our deposit on 2/6. It's almost all spent since we used it for a down payment on a new vehicle over the weekend.

We just filed our yesterday! Our state waas approved already last night but federal said early March (I think because of education credits)

@mrs. bird: We got a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country!! Since I'm currently preggo with number 3 it was the most practical and it's awesome!!

@mrs. bird: Ya! I'm way excited. We only like like 5 hours away from there but I've only been there once for a day trip. We're going all out. Penthouse, shows galore, dancing, sequins and glitter and all that jazz!

We got our federal deposited 2/7, 8 days after we e-filed.

We got ours! Filed 2/1, and got our return this past weekend, super fast.

We filed on Friday and our tax guy said 10-21 days but everyone he has talked to said it seemed to be closer to 10. A few friends of mine have already gotten theirs.

Getting a few small monthly bills paid off so that the car payment wont be a total shock to our budget lol

@mrs. bird: I was against a van for a long time. Then I got in the one we bought and man do I love it. Everytime we pass another van I yell to them that my van is better than theirs lol I'm all kinds of obnoxious about it! -
I haven't even received all my stupid paperwork! my college is slacking, as is my bank with the savings statements..

@HLK208: I thought ours would be awesome because we got married and bought a house this year, plus we broke apart my 12k in dental bills (PITA) and got less combined than DH did alone last year!

We got federal last week and expect state this week.

My bank/brokerage won't even issue 1099s until 2/14. I'm not even meeting with our new accountant until Thursday. I already ran some #s thru TurboTax and we are expecting a monster refund, so I'm antsy.
