Dh used to! Are you breastfeeding? (I don't know if that would even matter...)
I can't- my veins are too small (?)

@Greentea: I'm not. I read the eligibility and I meet the requirements, I think you're Ineligible for 6 months after childbirth? It didn't say anything about breast feeding, but I'm not anyway

@Mrs. Pen: I don't even know if that would matter, but that was the only thing I could think of that might! Dh used to do it twice a week. He didn't love doing it, but it was gas money.

I never have. I used to not weigh enough and when I have weighed enough have either been pregnant or breastfeeding!
Eta I thought you just meant blood this sounds like something else.

@winniebee: plasma is the whitish part of your blood that contains proteins - it's in high demand because it cannot be produced synthetically, I guess? Most places also provide some type of compensation because it costs a lot to receive a plasma transfusion. I've never done it, though! But I do know someone who goes the maximum amount and if you do you can earn $200/mo at some places. But even more so - donating it obviously helps and saves many lives! Oh and there is a minimum weight for it too - I think a lot of the eligibility criteria is the same as donating blood.

@Mrs. Pen: when I asked about this, @temperancebrennan responded that her husband is in the field and she's very knowledgeable.

I did several times as a teenager at the blood drives at school. Not much to tell. It's pretty uneventful & nor scary at all

I wanted to post from the other perspective - donated plasma kept my son alive while we were waiting for transplant. Thank you to all plasma donors!

@Ms.Badger: It is so wonderful to hear real-life stories about how these simple acts of giving truly benefit others.
