I'm a little floored and curious if this is common and I'm overreacting...
Scenario- Just received a text called "guidance for my birthday gift" in the text a detailed description of a ceiling fixture is described that this person wants for their birthday.
Backstory- most we had ever gotten this person for their birthday before was flowers but they complained about "quality and appearance" of flowers. So, since then we had been just sending a birthday card. Personally, I do not do much for an adults birthday, because um, we are adults and I think a well thought out card with note inside is a nice gesture. Or flowers for close friends/family.
. I'd just flat out tell her you and DH are not gifting for adult birthdays any more but that you'll still send a card and she's free to do the same on either of your birthdays.
