I had a worker at McDonald's ask if she could hold our baby. I said yes because she did us a big favor (we were on a road trip and I kept being annoying and asking for extra stuff, like hot water to heat a bottle, and extra ice to put in our cooler).

Yes! It's so weird. Usually I had him in a carrier, so I'd make an excuse about how it was too complicated to get him out and get him back in.

No, but people try to touch his hair. Apparently people did the same thing to me, and my mom says I hated it!

It happened a lot when we were in Savannah. I just figured Southerners were friendlier? But in one weekend at least 6 different random men and women wanted to hold her.

Yes! A very nice waitress walked away with her one day!!!! I went to the restroom and saw my husband with a worried look and no baby. Then he told she said she was going to hold her for a minute and basically walked away with her to the register. I was like WTF?!?! I was not pleased and my husband jumped up to grab her again. I think he felt awkward and didn't know what to say. I had to ask a 9 year old to please stop trying to pick her up the other day while we were playing outside at a shopping center in a "green" area. J kept looking at her like she was crazy and this kid was mad cause J wouldn't talk to her or listen...lol.

No, that would be so odd! I get people asking to see her a lot, but that isn't too bad. Although we've had people ask us to lift the blanket from over her car seat to see her and some old ladies freaked her out by looking too close a few weeks ago

I've had waitresses walk off with my kids before but it was at a restaurant we had inhabited a lot prior to having a kid and most of the wait staff knew us. I mean, even the owners and managers knew us on sight! And the waitresses holding the kids always stayed in sight, they were just showing them off to the older customers who were regulars like us. But to have someone at a cash register ask? No, uh uh, noooooooooooo way.

Yes, I get particularly annoyed when people just hold their arms out and are all "do you want to say hello." No, no she doesn't.

Yes, a random girl on the street, she looked early 20s. I just stared for a second because she caught me off guard, like did I hear that right, then was like No, I'm not going to do that. She asked again and I said no again and smiled and then hurried away.

We were on a plane and the person in the seat next to us asked if she could, and I let her. We'd already been hanging out beside her for 6 hours, and she'd seen my boobs at least five times since I had the middle seat and LO was fighting the cover, so sure... hold my baby too.

Also on a cruise a few people asked to hold her and I let them. Usually table mates at dinner or people we were teamed up with for activities, so it didn't seem too weird.

Noone has asked to hold her other than little kids in my neighborhood or people I actually know, but people do touch her all the time and shake her hand, etc. It's a little odd but I don't mind too much - I will wash her hands right afterwards haha. There was one 6-year-old sitting next to us at a baseball game that actually asked me if he could touch her, which I thought was very well-mannered of him!

ETA: Just remembered when DD was 2 months old we took her to my SIL's bridal shower and she was passed all over the room, half the time I didn't know where she was so that was a little nerve-racking but I didn't mind everyone enjoying baby cuddles haha especially because one of the ladies was pregnant so she and her mom wanted to get some "baby practice" hehe I thought it was sweet how everyone adored her

Yep, waitresses at restaurants always want to hold her. Sometimes I say ok, but usually she's in her high chair and clearly occupied with food.

Not yet, but I have had strangers ask ME to hold THEIR babies (like they needed both hands to do something and I just happened to be there). I was always happy to comply!

ETA: yes to the randoms touching his hands/feet/head without asking. That is annoying. One woman nearly stuck her finger in LO's eye. I thought DH was gonna hit her he was so mad.

Only to help me. A few old ladies at a boutique once offered to hold LO so I could try on clothes (they owned the place.) & a lady at the doctors office when I was trying to fill out paperwork but LO was too little to sit on her own but also didn't like to just sit in her infant carrier. I would be so weirded out if a stranger just randomly wanted to hold LO just because they like holding babies or whatever.

No one has tried to hold him or even touch him. I have probably jinxed myself and now everyone will want to!

Yes, so weird! I don't like it when cashiers ask, I know how dirty money is!! I've had clients (usually older men) that LOVE her, and carry her around the office.

We were at a park and a grandmother was there with her 2 grandchildren. One was a toddler and the other was a baby. I had DS in the swings and she asked if I would hold the baby while she got the toddler in the swing. I was happy to oblige.

I can't remember anyone asking to hold her, but recently at the zoo this weird old lady took her picture.... And a young Woman asked to take a picture... I was too stunned to say no...

The other day I offered to hold a baby (about 9months) because the mom was trying to drag her son and the baby across the parking lot while her son was throwing a temper tantrum.
