I'm not confident that we will be lucky this month with TTC. Our timing wasn't great because of how busy we have been.

However, I have learned a lot in the last few months and I think I have a pretty good idea when I'm ovulating. I'm just not sure when the best timing would be to 'get things done'.

This is the pattern I've noticed. I get a positive OPK, and then about 12-24 hours later I get the O pain. It's an unmistakable ache in my side. I get it every month, no fail. It lasts about 24 hours, but about 10 hours after the initial light pain, it can get so painful that I need tylenol.

Right around the peak time of pain, do you think that's when ovulation is actually occurring? Or does it occur at the first sign of pain?

I've read that it could take up to 12 hours for sperm to get where it needs to be, and then it can last up to 5 days.

Is it still best for us to DTD when we get the positive OPK? Or would it be better to hold off until I start feeling the pain? (Sex wouldn't be comfortable, but I'm willing to do it anyway!)
