I just did bear legs yesterday, so you can definitely do it if you're comfortable with it yourself!

I am not digging the look of tights. I think boots would look better.

Definitely bare legs for an evening event. It's a more formal look than tights, and boots would look way too casual.

I would definitely wear nude tights or pantyhose. I always think people are crazy when I see them at Christmas parties with bare legs—I guess think about it like you wouldn’t wear a skirt or dress to work with bare legs in the winter right? At my husband’s Xmas parties people will often go out to the bars after and then some ladies are left literally trudging through the snow with bare legs Others of us (who have been going to these longer) have wisened up and wear our winter boots to the events and then swap them for our heels in the coat area.
