Totally normal... LO had a high heartbeat all the way until the end (in the 170s/low 160s)... he's a boy. I'm so excited for you!

That sounds totally normal to me. Heart rates change based on activity, and probably based on what we eat too. I wouldn't worry unless the doctor said something.

@winniebee: Maybe it's a girl! If the dr isn't worried, then don't worry.

DD's heart rate was upper 180s! Dr. Just said..."Wow that's a strong heartbeat! Wow, that's strong!"
She's a rambunctious, sassy 14 month old today.

@winniebee: I had a dating u/s around 8 weeks and my son's heart rate was around 178!
My daughters heart rate was lower but I didn't have a dating u/s with her until 10 weeks.

I don't remember the exact number, I think in the 180s very early then the 170s, but my ds had a pretty high hb. He's almost six months & healthy!

@winniebee: DD's HR was 170's around that time. Deep down I knew she was a girl too. Don't want to get your hopes up, but my gut instinct was right both times. Will you be finding out the sex?

I just went back and looked --my girl's hb was 170 at 10 weeks and she is/was perfectly healthy the dr at that appointment described her hb as "very strong"

Mine was that high -- everyone said it must mean baby's a girl. He's a boy the heartbeat fluctuated a lot between appointments, so I don't really trust that as a predictor!

I just looked back at some of my old notes from when I was pregnant with E--her HB was super high early on, then in the high 150s-160s until the last month, when it slowed down a bit. I'm still thinking this one could be your girl.

I have 3 girls. One was always in the 170/180 area and the other two stayed right around the 140 area.

Oh this is interesting. My first thought was that is high but I've had two boys and heart rates in the 140-150's always.
