How accurate/ reliable is the measurements of your uterus? I was measuring right on track until 29 weeks when I then measured 31, at 31 weeks I measured 33 and now at 33 I measure 35+ she said. ( whatever that means!)
My doc actually laughed and said " you definitely have a healthy growing little girl!" Does that mean she is going to be huge? Does that mean I could go early and my dates are wrong ( which I have said I am a week further all along..)

Ever since my second ultrasound I've measured in line with my chart, or 10 days ahead of my official due date as determined by my first ultrasound. My OB acts surprised at every visit which drives me a little nuts.

In general it is supposed to measure pretty accurate. I measured ahead a couple visits and then went back to measuring on track. But since you've consistently measured ahead it might mean she is a bigger baby or would come early. Other posters likely have more experience with this.

I think they tend to not worry if it is within 2 weeks of you. Mine consistently measured 1-2 ahead but then at the end it got to be 4+ and that is when they started getting concerned. (I ended up being induced at 39+1 because of a large baby) I wouldn't necessarily say it means that she will be huge or go early. You may have a normal sized baby and lots of fluid, for example. The uterus measurement is just one thing they consider

In my experience, fundal height doesn't mean a lot. With my first, I measured 3 or so weeks ahead for a while, but when they did an ultrasound to check, LO was a little bigger than average, but I also had a little more than average ambiotic fluid. Everything evened out by the time she was born though and she was 7 lbs and late. With my current pregnancy, LO is at the 29th percentile in size, but I am measuring a week ahead, so my measurements definitely don't indicate baby size.

I measured ahead a few weeks and had gestational diabetes, they sent me for an ultrasound and baby was measuring average. Water broke just shy of 39 weeks and DD was 6lbs 13ozs so definitely not a large baby. I think it varies pregnancy to pregnancy. I wouldn't worry too much if possible!

In my experience they were wrong both times. With #1 I suddenly started measuring ahead at the end and my most likely "big baby" was under 8 lbs. For baby #2 I measured right on track and he was almost 9 lbs.

Mine was right on, and they measured via ultrasound not using a tape measurer. So they checked the head, torso, leg and arm lengths and calculated it somehow. It was exactly right which is frightening for 10 and a half pound baby.

I measured 3-4 weeks behind and had a 6lb14oz baby at 38 weeks. Their is a 2-3 week range of normal on either end. I hVe seen women who looked like they were having twins have small babies and tiny bump women have 10 pounders! I wouldn't worry about it. Baby will be whatever size he is!

They look for the measurement to be within two weeks of your date. I consistently measured two weeks ahead with a few exceptions, and my son was two days late and 8.5 lbs.

With both of my girls I consistently measured behind once we got to the third trimester, we were spot on target before that. By the time I was 37 weeks with DD1, I was measuring 3-4 weeks behind. She was born on her due date weighing 7 lbs 6 oz, so by no means a small baby. DD2 measured 2-3 weeks behind throughout most of the third trimester and was 8 lbs 2 oz, again, not a small baby! I don't put a lot of stock into it to be honest, and neither did any of the midwives that I saw.

With both girls I consistently measured ahead. Chloe was 7lbs 5oz and Charlotte was 7lbs 15oz.

With both my girls I measured pretty much right on. Both were IUGR and only 5 lbs and change full term though.

I always measured 3-4 weeks ahead via ultrasound and the fundal height roughly followed what the ultrasound said within a week or so. I had GD, but he was born at 39 weeks weighing 8lb 13oz. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks, so we knew my dates were correct.

eh. I say take with a grain of salt. I always measured a couple weeks behind, they sent me for growth ultrasounds and she was totally fine - I just have a long torso

I was measuring small/behind so they actually pushed back my due date and now I'm on track (I'm 28+4).
