How do you know when to go up a diaper size (in disposables)?
LO is 8 weeks old and has been in size 1s since birth. I'm not sure how much she weighs, but she was 10 lbs 3 oz at her one month check up 4 weeks ago. Today, I noticed that the 1s may be getting too small?

When we start getting leaks once a day I go up a size!

I usually know roughly what he weighs so go up when he reaches the weight limit on that diaper.
I think size 2 starts around 12 lbs so your LO is probably ready to go up.
Also, I have a rule that if we are on the fence and I'm in need of new diapers, I just buy the next size up : )

Thanks @mrs.wagon and @winniebee! 2 weeks ago I bought a giant box of 1s (oops!). We haven't had leaks, but since the 1s say they go up to 14 lbs, I thought we'd be able to get through this pack. Guess I will be donating the 1s to a friend

When her little butt starts to show when she leans over, or when she had red lines on her legs from the diapers.
We always have to size up in the middle of a pack. There is a girl at work that loves me since I brign her so many diapers!

she had red welts from the diaper being too tight, lol. it couldn't get any looser and stay on.

i usually went up a size before the max weight. it's better to have the diaper be a little too big than a little too small. they outgrow 1 and 2 quickly, but will stay size 3 for a long time.

When she gets red marks from them being too tight on her legs.

Weight & red marks. And I'm always shocked at how big they are when I go up a size 
I found there was some overlap between size 1 & 2 - in pampers at least. Size 1 ended at 14lbs but size 2 started at 12lb (I think...), which was nice!

Leaks. Then she moves to the next size, which is hilariously large. But no more leaks.

Size 1s and 2s seem so far away! At two weeks old, LO is still on preemies. Such a skinny butt! The store is always out of this size, so I'm looking forward to newborn diapers!

We would get poopie blow outs and that would usually be a sign for us to move up. She's still in size twos even though her weight is over the limit. They are snug but not leaking so we are holding off until we finish this pack. That being said, I am stocking up on some size 3's today.

@Mrs. Bee: same here! I switch her to a new size before the weight limit.
Sometimes you can also tell once the tabs start not reaching so far anymore.
