Planning to celebrate my baby's first birthday the weekend of May 30/31. When would you send out invites?
And do you think 1130 - 130 is a good party time? My baby still takes a AM and PM nap.

Our LO2 is due middle of may and LO1's birthday is right around the same time. Because it will be hectic, we are planning LO1's birthday the first week of June (so similar timing to your party). I just sent out invites this past weekend. I would send them out soon if I were you, primarily because summer gets packed and fast! Or, just give the people you want/need to be there the heads up of the date now. That will free you up to get invites out within the next 2 weeks. I generally try to get them out 4- 6 weeks ahead of time (though that's not always realistic).
Also, I think that's a great party time! Our LO1 (who is turning 2) party is starting at 11AM.

@Alexandra603: because that's Memorial Day weekend I would send it out ASAP. Will you be serving a full lunch?
Eta haha never mind. Memorial Day is the weekend before. But I will still send ASAP because I would do 4 weeks before minimum.
I'm planning on sending dd2's first birthday invite out 6 weeks in advance.

I just sent out a save the date email for DS's first birthday party which will be June 6th. I'll probably send a formal invite with details in a week or so. We are planning a 2:30-5:30ish party so we can do snacks/finger foods rather than a full meal .

Thanks ladies! Guess I should get on this! I guess I will have to do a full lunch We are going to do it at a park so I'll have to think of something easy to transport. I guess I could also do a 330 -530pm timed party too...

Also are you guys doing Saturday or Sunday parties? I can't decide which day would be better. I'm leaning towards Sunday for some reason.

@Alexandra603: we like Saturday's so we have Sunday to recoup and clean up the house. But if yours is at a park it's less of a big deal. But I also have Sundays as family day in mind too.
Just do sandwiches or subs and cold pasta and fruit salads.
