When you named your little one how important were initials to you?
I don't want my future LOs to have initials that spell something vulgar, but that's all I care about. If I have a son his initials will be SAK. It's a little awkward, but DH and I love the name so we aren't changing it. I just won't monogram anything with his initials.

I asked the same question when I was naming our LO! 
Our LO's initials were not ideal (CAO) but I love her name enough that I don't care.

As long as it didn't spell out something vulgar I was ok with it! LO's is NLK. I do have a friend named Maggie (Margaret) who's initials spell out MEG which I thought was pretty cool!

To me it doesnt really matter. I just pick the name and the initials follow. ZPA and PMA.

My old boss has three first and middle names, which spell out RAT. I'd have to type those initials along with his last name on a lot of documents, and every time I'd think how unfortunate that looked.

Doesn't matter as long as it's not inappropriate! A family I know loved a name, but realized the initials would be ASS. So they switched the first and middle name, but call him by his middle name.
I have a cousin with the initials GEM and I think that's cute

We're naming our kids with my last name as their middle and his last name as their last… which means by default their initials are _TF. So no names that start with W (WTF would be unfortunate). Otherwise, nope!

Totally doesn't matter to me unless the initials spelled ASS (totally possible with our last name).
I guess FUK wouldn't be great, either.

I didn't worry too much about it since traditional monograms are first-last-middle name anyway. Saying that, my LO's initials are EOG, which is eGo traditionally. I don't plan to monogram ...

Our last name starts with an "F" and I think the only initials we actively avoided were WTF. Oh, and BJ.

Our last name starts with G so there are a lot of things I wouldn't want to spell out especially in conjunction with our last name, which is easy for kids to make fun of.

As long as it's not an "embarrassing word" I'm good. Our last name starts with a W and most middle names we come up with are not a vowel so we don't really come across this.

My brother's initials are DEB and I know he always hated that. A friend of mine had KEG as her initials and that was cool in college. Honestly, I tried to go with initials that didn't spell anything to make it easy. We don't do the monogramming thing so that isn't a problem in our house.

I would say somewhat important. I'd always thought I'd use the name Virginia after my favorite aunt (Gigi), and then I thought I'd use Jane after DH's favorite aunt...but I couldn't imagine giving a girl both a name that's similar to vagina, and having the initials VJ (which could easily become vajaja)
My new favorite name would give a daughter the same initials as me, which I think would be kind of neat since all the males in DH's family have the same initials.

Not very important but I just made sure if I monogrammed something it wouldn't spell something crazy out. I have a niece whose initials spell ASS. I can't believe her parents didn't catch that. Especially living in the South where we love having things monogrammed!

Not that important. My niece's middle name was going to be Olivia but that would give her the initials POS so they spell it Alivia instead.

They're pretty unimportant to me. I didn't go searching for anything ridiculous, but there wasn't anything we actively avoided either. I guess it would have depended if I noticed something weird, then I might have tried to change it, but we never ran into the problem.

Well, i considered it in that I don't think ESS is a bad set of initials. It's not FUK or ASS or SEX or BUT or a million other awkward things. Sure, last names could change, but still! I sign my initials a lot!

Important. I used my initials a lot when I was working. My daughter has two middle names and I purposefully arranged them as JH instead of HJ

I think about it and try to make sure it doesnt spell out anything totally inappropriate or crazy but if I loved a name I might try to make it work somehow

My parents almost named me something that would've made my initials RAT until a lady at the hospital pointed it out. So they changed it to AMT, which became ATM after marriage, haha. So it did cross my mind.

I would let me kids have initials that spell something bad or that could get teased but other than that I give it no thought and it wouldnt guide my name deciding in any way.

My maiden last name started with a "Z" and my mom really wanted to name me Elizabeth, but she thought "EZ" would be bad for a girl (sounds like "easy", which is good to associate to a girl). Even though the middle initial would have broken that up... still a no-go
