How long did it take to order your pump through insurance?Meaning, from order to arrival at doorstep. I'd appreciate if you voted but also commented with the stats and your provider.

3 days. I ordered through Acelleron. I brought the form for my midwife to sign to my appt on a Thursday, they faxed it over on Friday and acelleron called me and placed my order, the pump was on my doorstep Monday.

I needed one ASAP and went to a nearby medical supply. From having the rx to walking out the door with it was an hour and a half. My sister ordered hers from edgepark and it took 2 days.

Less than a week. I got it through my insurance with referral from my OB. I don't remember the provider.

From the time it shipped it was just a few days. But I placed my order a little over a month before my DD , but insurance doesn't allow it to be shipped until I think 2 weeks before your due date or something like that, UHC.

It took less than a week once I got the prescription from my OB.

Less than a week, but they would only ship to Target and I had to pick it up there

Mine took about 5 weeks from the yummy mummy store BUT I ordered in January 2013 when all the new laws we t into effect (I was previously told I was grandfathered in but I think most of them were wiped at that point) so they were extremely back ordered.

They just had my OB write me an RX for one and I walked right into the lactation department of the hospital and they pulled one off the shelf for me. Zero cost. Easy as that!

Less than a week here too. It did take a little time to find out who I could order it from, because the ACA was pretty new when I started calling, but once I got someone knowledgable from the insurance company, it was easy. The medical equipment company was super helpful.

I ordered it 2 weeks or month in advance but was required to call them after delivery for the order to be processed. I then got the pump in a day or 2.

I called on a Thursday and it was delivered on Monday. Super fast!

Both EdgePark and Byram Healthcare shipped and arrived within days. My insurance required I not receive my pump until 1 month before due date, and it arrived a few days before I went to the hospital to deliver just before 37 weeks.

I have Aetna and ordered online through one of the approved vendors. It arrived within a few days. I had an issue with the order (missing a few pieces), and it was quickly resolved.

I went to a medical supply store. My insurance didn't allow me to get on until I'd actually given birth.

I ordered mine when I was about 6 months pregnant, and was told it wouldn't ship until a month before my due date. It showed up on my doorstep a couple of days later. Ha!

I ordered mine the day I had her. It was delivered the day I came home, so about 36 hours later. Edgepark overnighted it.

No time at all. My dr wrote an rx for it then I went and picked it up from a medical supplier here.

I got the ex and submitted the paperwork before delivery. This took 10 minutes? Then called once I delivered to tell them and the pump was on my doorstep a day later when I got home from the hospital.

So - I voted 2 weeks but wanted to add a caveat. I was not able to get mine until I could show proof of a live birth. So - I had contacted the medical supply company I was instructed to contact and got the information on availability (they were still very backed up from the change in this law when I had DD). I called after I was home from the hospital and they put it on order. About 2 weeks after I had DD I drove up with the Rx from my Dr and the certificate of live birth - I drove away with it that day.

The slow part for me was getting in touch with someone, but once I did that, it was pretty quick. I have BCBS and I called them and they told me to call Medela directly. It took several tries to get through to a person, but then they were very helpful about the options and what I needed to do. I got the Rx from my doctor and then called to place my order, and it was shipped right away and came within a week.

@peachykeen: I was the same way. Insurance wouldn't allow me to get it until a month before my due date but it arrived in just a couple days after ordering and I got it just a few days before being sent to the hospital with pre-e at 37 weeks. I have Aetna.
