We are going to put our house up for sale in the spring. We have a pretty good list of things we need to do before we sell it. How long did it take you to prep your house before you could put it on the market?

About a week? We had a small home (1,445 sq ft) so the biggest to do for us was de-cluttering. We didn't have to do anything else to the house (like paint) since we did that a couple years back.
Good luck with your prep and sale of your home!

Maybe a month? But we had some big projects. Not for sale but for rent. It rented first week we listed for full price.

Maybe a month - we didn't have to do any big work - mainly cleaning out - we had a huge yard sale and then had to put a ton of crap in storage so the house wouldn't look cluttered.

Following. We still have a year or two in this house, but we've got some bigger projects we need to accomplish (replacing carpet with hardwood/laminate in the living area, renovating a bathroom, painting).

If we put our house on the market now the only two things we would need to do is replace our oven and re-sod. Those would take us maybe a month from researching/ price shopping to completion.

We had a 2,000 sq foot house. We had a Realtor come by in November and give us a hit list - it included:
1) decluttering/organizing everything
2) Painting 2 bathrooms and 1 bedroom
3) painting the basement storage room floors
4) some minor contractor work (drywall/electrical)
5) Minor landscaping (we had torn everything out - just needed to plant some basics so there was "something")
We were ready by Jan 1 - and spent the last two weeks before listing on Jan 13 just "staging".
Spent around $2K total, sold the house in 12 hours for more than asking...time and money well spent!
FWIW - I had a 4 mos old at the time I was EBF so I did not move as quickly as I could.

Our house will be listed in the next week or so and it took us a couple months. But we have replaced almost everything throughout the 8 years we've lived here so the only major thing that had to be done was having the exterior painted (being done currently!)
Mostly we had to declutter a ton, work on the backyard, and clean.
eta: our house is tiny (1200 sqft) so that helps a lot!

Month. And talk to your realtor - turned out a lot of the things we thought we HAD TO DO before listing, our realtor said were not a big deal both times we sold a house.

Congrats! We are starting on a list of renovations/udpates we needed to do before selling in the spring.
The biggest thing we need to start on now is some decorations (finishing off curtains, etc) and decluttering.

About a month. Moved things into storage, painted a bathroom, did some landscaping. But our house was only 10 years old when we sold it, so it didn't need a lot of work. It sold for full asking in one week despite our minimal effort to "prep" it.

I have a list and I'm thinking it will take us about a month, most are major replacements though (new floors in all rooms) and some painting. Otherwise just decluttering.

A few weeks! We only had some hard work and paint touch-ups. We hired a contractor for some work in our basement but it only took about 5 days to complete.
