Just curious, how long will you rear face your child in the car? The new AAP recommends 2 years or until they outgrow the car seat rear facing specs. I've heard of people keeping kids rear facing until they are pretty old. Obviously safety is our biggest concern! If you care to share, also include what car seat/s you have and the ages of the kids in them.
she's just under 40 lbs and she's in a Diono Radian RXT which goes up to 45 lbs rear-facing. I believe it's the highest RF weight limit to date on a carseat (edited: in the US). There have been times she asked to turn around, but she quickly forgets the idea when I encourage her to face the same way as her little sister. They are like peas in a pod
