I think I do about 5-6 large loads every week. The weeks I do bedding it's a few more loads. If anyone is sick I do more too. It's not terrible but lugging it up from the basement is the biggest pain!
How many loads do you average per week?

4. One for DS, Two for us, One for towels/bedding/etc.

Probably 3-4? But no LO yet. That will change, especially since we plan to cloth diaper. I love that we have everything on one floor. Our last apartment the washer/dryer were upstairs, and I hated it.

Is it weird that I never counted? We used a laundromat for 10 years so now that I can do laundry in my own apartment, that is one chore i don't mind!

I do maybe 1-2 loads a week. DH does his own and sometimes LO's. I do my own and sometimes LO's.

@hotchildinthecity: I totally get it! After schlepping to the laundromat for years, I doing laundry in my own home! I probably do at least 6 loads per week. Maybe more.

Wow - we have no LOs yet and I think we do 3-4 loads per MONTH? Maybe fewer? It will definitely be a whole new world once we are cloth diapering though. At least a load of diapers isn't as heavy to haul up and downstairs as a load of sheets and towels...

Yesterday i did 4 loads of just me and hubs clothes.... another load of Baby's, and probably 2-3 more of cloth diapers

It feels like a million. There is always a pile of laundry that needs washed!

I would say close to 7? I do just about a load per day during the week and then on weekends I do sheets and towels. Obviously sickness changes that and I do all blankets, rugs, ect. once a month.
eggplant / 11824 posts
Like 3-4. LO and my clothes can usually fit into 1 load. Then DH's clothes in another load, towels and bedding a third, and some spillover from cloth napkins and dishtowels for a 4th if needed.

4-5. Usually 2 loads of DDs clothes, one of mine, a towels and a sheets load. DH does his own laundry.
persimmon / 1386 posts
I do mine and DH's laundry every other weekend, and that is about 5 loads. I do one load of DD's clothes every week.

Between 6 and 8. I have a "system" and I don't mix certain things together, which is why it is so many loads for 3 people.
pomegranate / 3643 posts
6-10 I would think. I feel like a bit of a slob now. There is four of us, and LO2 is on solids now. Is that a lot for four people?? It seems like it is mainly towels and dishrags.
pomelo / 5220 posts
100... okay, an exaggeration. I just feel like the hamper is always full, the dryer always has a load in it and the basket always had a load in it. It never ends! Its probably about 5, depending on how many outfits LO destroys during the day.

@hotchildinthecity: jealous! we still send ours out.
we send it out every 2-3 weeks.
@lamariniere: this is our first place without laundry, we were told that there was laundry when we signed the lease and then they moved it into the condo complex in front of our complex. fine. but the first attempt someone kept shutting off the machines, so we decided we'd just send it out instead.
I swear, when we have laundry again, I'm going to take a day just to do it and enjoy, lol.

I don't think I'm doing enough laundry. I mostly do everything in one big wash weekend once a month. Hubs does his own and I do mine and my LO. I will do a few small loads once in awhile.

@Bao: I would say on average I do 2-3 loads. That's just for DH and I... can't wait till we have kids! lol

I'm not sure. We wash diapers every other night, so 3-4 if you count those. One or two loads for LO each week. Two usually for us probably. Plus towels and/or sheets. So I guess like 6-10...? But honestly diaper laundry really doesn't feel like laundry. And our laundry is on the top floor. So it isn't a chore that ever bugs me.

4-5. 2 for us, 1 for LO and then towels/bedding. More if we are cloth diapering. Feels like it never ends!!

With a messy toddler and a newborn I am doing laundry every day! It's endless.
pomegranate / 3983 posts
At least 5, usually closer to 7. Thankfully no more diaper laundry but we go through lots of dish towels, cloth napkins and rags in addition to the usual stuff.
honeydew / 7622 posts
@looch: yep. That's how I am.
I would say 8ish not including cloth diapers. But lots are 1-2 items on a 15 minute cycle. Since so many of T's things are new I'm careful to keep like color together.
persimmon / 1461 posts
between 5 - 7? one darks, one or two for towels, one kitchen towels/dusting rags/coffee machine towels, one hubby work clothes (always dirty and dusty, he's a tradesman) and then another load or 2 for sheets and covers. I have 6 string clothesline under the decking and I can hang them there regardless of the weather, so it helps to get all the washing done at once.
persimmon / 1431 posts
I do 1-2 per week. I just throw everything in together, no separating.
