@shopaholic: I think those belly to baby packages are awesome if you really love the photographer! I generally see those packages in the $500 range for a maternity shoot, newborn, 3, 6, 9 and 12 month package.

As for just NB - $200-$300 is typical around here for a really great photographer but you could find it for about $150 for a good photographer.

obviously since i'm not even preggo yet, i haven't actually spent any on maternity or newborn photos =D but the photographer who did our wedding that i love does them & i have her pricing info. she charges $300 for the session, an online gallery of up to 35 photos, and a $100 print credit. if you want to buy the disk of all your images it's an additional $500. it's the same price for maternity & newborn shoots. so about $800 a pop, plus whatever printing you want done.

our newborn photographer (LO is still baking) charges $500 for the session, choice of 2 print options (set of birth announcements, 11x14, proof book, some other print size) and DVD of all the images with the rights release.

I think it was about $300 each (with some kind of discount for doing both) and it included a number of prints and a CD with all the images and a slideshow set to music.

We paid $900 total. For a newborn and 6 month shoot, all images on a hi res disc included. It was definitely the most reasonable price I found in our area.

$250 for newborn session itself, $600 to purchase all digital images. I also got a maternity shoot from same photographer for $200 and she included the images with my newborn digital pics...So I got maternity and newborn shoots, and all digital images from both for $1050. Oh and I should probably note that the photog came to my house for newborns...I saw some photogs that did it in their studio and that would have been tough to get our sh*t together and get to a studio in the first 10 days! So I probably paid for some convenience there too....

I had researched several newborn photogs in our area, and $200-$300 for the shoot, and $500-$800 for the entire digital image package seems pretty standard around here (I'm in Fort Lauderdale/Miami).....

ETA: It's expensive as hell for NB pics, but I think it was worth every penny. Her NB pics are awesome and I love that I'll always have them...I never really had nice photos as a baby, and it was important to me to have them for H.

The woman I looked at doing them with estimated $600-1000. Out of what we can afford right now! My MIL kept insisting they are worth it, but I think our rent for the month the baby will appreciate more!

Our wedding photographer I think was much cheaper and doesn't make you buy the prints so we might do a session with him this summer when baby is older.

We paid $250 for maternity and newborn combined. That included the time of the photographer, and 2 disks of images per session. There were about 50 images for each session. We got all the rights to the photos.

We paid around $600 and get 30-40 photos and full rights to the images as well as a DVD slideshow of the session. I'll probably use mpix to get them printed

I've just finished doing a ton of research. I'm going with someone who does the session including digital for $500. I've seen it range from $300 to $1000 - some include digital, some don't. This photog does a 3 session package for $1000. Maybe I should book the whole thing! I think you get more value when they have their own studio and lots of props. The props are expensive!

Whenever we need one, there is a photographer in town that does them $200 for weekday and $250 for weekend sessions. Edited photos, disc, and reproductive rights. Plus, I love her photos.

I do feel some guilt because our wedding photographer is a friend and has started doing some newborn pics, but I don't think she is as good as this photographer. Plus, she is way more expensive.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the Pennsylvania / Philadelphia area? I hit one really great recommendation from a bee already, but could always use more

So far the one photog I've contacted is $125 for the session and $750 for all the digital files.

We did a belly to baby session, so maternity, newborn, 6 month and 1 year. The cost is $3.5k and includes 20 prints, 1 canvas, baby announcements and an album. We have added additional items including more canvases and two more sessions, so we are higher than the $3,500. We do not have digital rights.
