There is a petting zoo sort of near us but it is $10 per person - adult or child. I think $30 to go to a petting zoo with my husband and child is a rip. What are they near you?

£10 for an adult and under 5's are free. It's kind of expensive and we've only been once...they do have a good soft play barn too.

we have different kinds, some nicer than others.
there is a nice farm stand, it's really big, they have a deli and an ice cream window and lots of baked goods and produce and a few large playground structures, they have llamas, goats, a bison, and sheep you can pet for free and get food for a quarter.
you can also pay to go to a big petting zoo type place, they have a LOT of different types of animals, some you can pet, others you just look at. they also have a splash pad spray park and you can pay extra for pony rides. they do have some demonstrations and activities. it's $17.95 for ppl over 2, under two is free. that adds up quickly! better off getting a season pass

We have two small petting zoos nearby that are both free. The big zoo is a drive and $30 per adult and free for kids under two. We have an annual membership though so we go often.

There are 2 zoos that are close to me, and both are smaller zoos. The bigger of the two is $11.95 for adults and $7.95 for kids 2-12 (kids under 2 are free). The smaller one is $7 for adults and $5 for kids 3-17 (under 3 is free) though from Oct-Apr they have $2 off the regular admission price. Then of course I could travel to the Philly Zoo which is farther away and $20 for adults, and $18 for kids 2-11 and $15 for parking @_@

I'm lucky to live in a city with lots of free family activities (STL). The zoo is free, but the petting zoo area costs $3/person (under 3 is free, I think). There is also Grant's Farm which has a petting zoo which is free as well.
