What role does your husband play in charting? Mine sets the alarm as well as keeps the thermometer and chart on his side of the bed. He hands me the thermometer in the a.m. and records the temps and when we bd. I am in charge of recording CM and updating fertilityfriend.

Dang girl! Go hubby! I didn't ask mine to be a part of it and didn't expect him to be. I would just tell him, WE NEED TO HAVE SEX RIGHT NOW and he knew what that meant.

Reading TCOYF stressed that the husband needs to be involved. Also, I am rather opposed to the idea that birth control should be mostly the woman's responsibility. This way he has an equal part in this, well as equal as he can without having it be his body!

Not at all, other than that the beeping of my thermometer wakes him up. And that I love to show him my chart on my iphone app

I haven't started yet, but I suspect my husband will play NO role in charting. I think having a baby is waaaaay more important to me than him (although he's definitely up for it), and he won't care if it takes a while to get pregnant (at least at first), so I suspect in the beginning, he won't help. Perhaps once we've been trying for a while with no results, he'll start chipping in though (hopefully it won't come to that...).

Mine would hand me the thermometer every morning, read it, and put everything in his phone app. He's much more organized than I am.

Mine played no role other than having to hear about my chart occasionally. Considering he can sleep through his alarm most mornings, he would have been a bad person to rely on to give me the thermometer!

@Rachel: @mediagirl: I am with you gals! my hubby is very compliant. hahah but he does what he is supposed to do and not much more than that. he has been very supportive of our trying though and even though he is 5 years younger and it came on a bit quicker than he had imagined in life and took getting used to, he becomes more involved and into it every day.

Mine murmurs, "what's the temp?" and follows that with an "awww" or "oh good!" before falling back to sleep. LOL

We wake up at different times so he isn't home to help me temp. But he does ask for updates daily and keeps his own chart on his phone.

My sweet, poor husband
He is really good about listening and looking the chart and acting excited when I say 'Do you want to see our chart??' I'm sure he does it to humor me but I know he also doesn't mind.

My husband says that charting reminds him of Pokemon players. You've got people who just play the game, and people who have spreadsheets upon spreadsheets to maximize each individual Pokemon. He's glad that I'm alert to things like CM, etc, but he's glad that I a) don't temp and b) don't explain things like CM beyond "my body lets me know when I'm most fertile".

Wow - my hubby is very not much involved other than the BD part hee hee. He barely even looked at my charts unless I showed them to him for a reason!

My husband isn't involved in the charting part at all. I'll tell him something about my cycle and he'll look at me blankly and say "i don't know what that means." The CM part of it freaks him out, too. So I just let him know when he gets to have his "perfect week" (BD every day), and he's pretty compliant.

My husband hates that I temp, because the thermometer wakes him up in the mornings, lol. It beeps pretty loudly, so now I've taken to sticking my head under the pillow while I temp.

@hilsy85: ha that is so funny! My hubs hates the beep too. He calls it my vagina alarm. He freaked out and bitched so much this morning about "losing sleep" (he needs Luke 11 hours sleep) that I finally did some research and just bought mercury free glass analog thermometer. They are available in amazon if any of you ladies encounter the same tantrum.

My husband doesn't help at all, he'd be more of a hindrance honestly. I wake up naturally without an alarm and the beeping on my thermometer doesn't seem to bother him.
I keep a simple chart, I just write the temp on a little calendar, every once in a while I migrate it to Excel, but I have really no need for that anymore.
