Is this including snacking periods in the day too? At my elementary school the kids get 2 eating periods. Kindergarten aged kids get an optional extra morning snack time. Otherwise there are 2 designated eating periods when the whole school eats and then they go out for recess.

That amount of food seems about right for some kids and to have variety for multiple eating periods. Unfortunately, I feel like it's trial and error with each kid. Also, it varies day to day because sometimes I would notice kids would eat a lot and sometimes barely anything. Sometimes I'd ask parents to pack more food for their kid because the kid would be so hungry and saying they ran out of food and then they'd get more food another day and it would be a day where they weren't very hungry.

My LO has NEVER finished all his food. Some days I feel like I don't pack much at all. I'm starting to wonder if it's not necessarily what/how much I pack, but the socializing that's happening instead of eating.

Today's lunch for Kinder was:

Small lunchable
cheese stick
box of yogurt raisins
Yoplait light yogurt
Capri Sun Water
Little Bite muffins

Nothing came home. She's a pretty good eater for lunch if she's given things she likes. I could easily sub the lunchable for a peanut butter sandwich and skip the muffins. And that will be gone too.

Veggies are clearly missing, LO doesn't like them at all. If I packed them, they'd come back home.

Whatever fits in her Planetbox Shuttle. Some things in my lunch rotation:
- 5 dumplings, dipping sauce in dipping countainer, 4 strawberries, and 4 grapes.
- Ham and turkey sandwich with 4 carrots, ranch dipping sauce in dipping container, and 4 grapes.
- 5 chicken nuggets, ketchup in dipping container, 4 carrots, and 4 grapes.

I think the portions are just enough for her. Usually she'll come home with 1/4 of her sandwich left. Yesterday she came home with 2 dumplings left. So she never fully finishes a meal even though to me it doesn't seem like a whole lot. She also gets snack time at her school around 9:30 am. On weekends when we're at home, we rarely give her snacks before lunch, so I think that snack probably makes her less hungry for lunch.
