We will probably get a $15 GC per teacher plus an edible gift. So, I voted $20 per x 4 main teachers. I also want to get a shared edible gift for the floaters in each girls rooms and a gift for the front office.

@Bao: you might want to add a $75, $100 + option! I remember from years past there are quite a few Bees that gift that much per teacher.

We gave $90 to cover Christmas, bday, and teacher appreciation gifts for the year for both teachers. each teacher gets a $75 gift card for each. Last year it was $100 but there are only 5 kids in the class this year. I will do a little something else for Christmas for each one. Then do something little for the office staff, probably some food/treats I make.

We don't have any teachers yet, but growing up my parents gifted them a bag of homemade caramels. So they didn't have to spend much. Just the cost of ingredients (and she was making numerous batches of caramels anyways).

My LO has a lot of teachers. One master teacher and a handful of student teachers from the university. I typically give $10 Starbucks gift cards to the student teachers. Last year LO had two master teachers so I only spent $20 on each with a gift card. At the end of the year I may have spent $50. With only one master teacher this year I'll probably spent between $30 - $40.

I'll probably bring in some treats (not homemade in case anyone doesn't trust homemade food!). I don't know many people who go all out--most are too broke from paying for daycare!

Gift giving to teachers is NOT the norm or expected here. Last year I wanted to show appreciation and made little gift bags for each teacher (4 teachers) at around €10/bag. I will do something similar this year, but I need new ideas. I would feel very awkward going the gift card route. My budget is up to €20/teacher.

@regberadaisy: say what?! Geeze...my husband would have to serve at his second job two nights just to cover that. No way.
