I often think that our kids are exposed to so much compared to when we were kids. Going to the museum was a special occasion, on a school field trip or a couple times a year with my mom.
We go to museums/zoos/botanical gardens a couple times a month with our kids, but part of that is living in the city in a small apartment.

Quite a bit I think - between field trips and weekend outings - I grew up just south of DC so we went there a lot
My kids? They haven't been to much but that's my goal for this summer - to hit some of the touristy spots in our city - DS is 6.5 and loves to explore new places!

Once a year as a kid? But we had to travel a couple hours for any museums.
DS goes to something- zoo, museum etc. like once a month because now we live in a city.

Hardly ever unless on a school trip. I lived in a teeny tiny apartment in NYC but my parents were immigrants who worked crazy hours and didn't know English.

usually class field trips, maybe a nature center or history museum a handful of times with my parents on one of our family trips to Mackinac or Niagara!

Maybe once or twice a year. But there weren't really good museums for kids in my city. We went to the zoo all the time though!

Never, I grew up in a small town and there weren't any museums other than a smallish gallery at the local university.

I was at the art museum almost every Saturday for a decade for art classes. We probably went to the zoo/science center/natural history museum once every couple of months, too.
