Going off the dinner menu spread, how often do you cook on the weekends? I'm really good about preparing meals during the week (breakfast/lunch/dinner) but I don't like cooking very much so by the time the weekend hits I'm done. DH doesn't cook so this usually results in us eating out or ordering in Sat & Sun (sometimes even Friday night), especially since we like to go out on the weekends and we'll usually grab something to eat while out. I do try to prepare the kids' food at least but I would say at least two out of the six meals for them is purchased. This past weekend, we spent close to $150 eating out for a family of four!! This is a lot more than the usual average but that number just boggled me and made me realize some things need to change. And fast! How do you tackle weekend meals if you don't like to cook, and are usually on the go?

Also, just a side note that while I would love it if my husband was a great cook he isn't and I am okay with that. Especially since I'm not either! Since he doesn't get to see the kids much, I prefer they get to spend time with him while I prepare dinner (also a nice break for me!) and he's great with so much else around the house. He's tried preparing a meal here and there and it either takes forever or is so heavy I'd prefer cooking a healthier meal for us.
