And do you use cloth or disposables? Just curious!

Never. He's three and we've done cloth and disposables.
I think it is partly because we don't use wipes, plain water only and dry completely. I feel like wipes just keep everything moist.

All the friggin' time. We have used both disposables and cloth, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Not sure what to do besides by Costco sized tubs of Desatin.

Every few months! We use cloth and some disposables.

Hasn't had one yet - he's 9 months. Using disposable.
EDIT: I do use wipes (since I saw someone mention it), but only when he poops, in the morning after waking up, or if he ever looks wet (which he doesn't ever really)

We use cloth and these days we get no rashes. While I was getting my wash routine figured out we had a few bad ones I think due to the detergent.

We use disposables, never had full on nappy rash but her bum has been slightly red a few times while teething.

We've never had a diaper rash and she's 26 months. We used disposable the first 2 months, then cloth with gdiapers for several months, then the flushable gfills with gdiapers exclusively from 8 months to 24 months. She's potty trained now so it's not a concern anymore. I was convinced we would have to deal with it bc she has super sensitive skin but we've been very lucky and never had to bust out the diaper creams or do diaper free time

Never-he's come close once or twice, when we experimented with different brands, so we stick with what works. We only use disposables.

only once- she pooped like every hour for two days straight, and it really irritated her. it gets red occasionally, but we've only had an actual rash once.
we use cloth. when she got the rash I put her in disposables so I could use a good strong cream, and it cleared up in a few days.

Very very rarely. Just a little once or twice in 9 months. We use Huggies disposables and Huggies natural care wipes.

She's 3 months and so far (knock on wood...) no rash. We use Pampers Swaddlers (occasionally cloth as well) and Pampers Sensitive wipes. I am paranoid and use Earth Mama Angel Baby (or whatever it's called) Bottom Balm a lot though...

Cloth and disposable. Only minor redness, really. Maybe one rash because she had a habit of pooping and sleeping in it. I use CJ's BUTTer and it is the most amazing stuff

@looch: how do you use just water? like on a wash cloth or in the sink? our guy is always battling some redness and I want to avoid full blown rash!

It's pretty rare and has never been bad. We have used disposable diapers exclusively.

So far, only when she was on antibiotics and they seriously bothered her tummy. All that poo caused a nasty, stubborn rash which turned into a yeast infection. I felt terrible about it! Lotramin and lots of diaper-free time finally cleared it up. We use disposables.

He has a red tush sometimes if he's been pooping a lot, but he's only had actual diaper rash once, when we were traveling internationally and had to buy diapers in a different country. I even bought the same brand (pampers) but there must have been something different in them because they gave him an awful rash. We use disposables.

We do cloth 90% of the time. We use cloth wipes with just warm water, then pat dry and use the Grovia Magic Stick (natural diaper ointment). She gets mild diaper rash 3 times a week, I would say.
We only change her when we feed her, so that's every four hours during the day and not at all overnight (12 hours).
EDIT: I'm reading other replies and it seems like there is a distinction between redness and actual diaper rash? I'm confused. I thought any redness was diaper rash?

Maybe 3 times ever? Once was because he ate too much pasta with tomato sauce (we think) and twice when he was teething. Never lasts more that 24 hours. We almost always use cloth but use some disposables. We use pampers sensitive wipes.

Disposables here, and LO very rarely gets diaper rashes, maybe twice ever. Once when I was super busy all day with my SIL's wedding and didn't get to change her as often as I should, and the other was when she had a bad virus and had diarrhea for 2 weeks.

She's had two rashes in this first year. The first was actually yeast, so once we got ointment it cleared up right away. The second was during a period when she was pooping a lot, and it ended up taking almost a week to heal. She's in disposables.

Just twice, both times when he had diarrhea from the stomach flu. The poop was just so weird and bad. He has very sensitive skin, I'm surprised he hasn't gotten it more! Desitin seems to clear it up in a day. We use disposables.

Never, I don't think. LO is 1 year and we use disposables and regular Pampers wipes at every diaper change.
I think maybe this has to do with skin type/sensitivity.
