I have some used items I'd like to sell (mostly some of my clothes/bags/accessories as well as some kids clothes/toys) so that I can put it towards purchasing some much needed clothes/items for next season. Where do you usually sell your used items for the best ROI?

Yup! Sorry if I wasn't clear. Basically I'm wondering if I earn more back doing a consignment sale as opposed to an online site (eBay, ThredUp, etc.) or if there are better options I haven't considered yet.

I list across multiple sites, the local FB buy/sell group, a site similar to Craigslist and the local parenting listserv. I just listed a ton of stuff yesterday hoping to make room for winter!

I have found this order best
Toys and big baby stuff - facebook swap. Plus is you get full sale price. Cin you may have to list for a while and wait for a buyer and then coordinate meeting for multiple sales.
Consignment Sales - usually about 70% profit. You price your stuff. Clothes sell well here especially nicer brands and sets.
Consignment store - they give you their price which is usually very low. Typically they pay for brands by category and I've heard only buying for around 30-40% of retail price
Selling online is great if you can figure out cheap shipping. PayPal is great with pretty low fees to protect buyers and sellers. Obviously not good for bigger stuff

If your aim is maximum resale value rather than quick sale, I find that Craig's List or FB sale groups work best. This tends to be time consuming though so if you can bundle things into groups it might work better.
For a quick sale of many items, consignment sales probably work best.
