how long did you wait in between 2 and 3 before TTC?
I think if we 100% decide to TTC #3 we'll likely wait the same amount of time between 2 & 3 as we did between 1& 2.
We started TTC #2 when #1 turned one.

We are just strating to TTC#2 and DS is 20 months! IF we decide for #3, we'll probably start TTC earlier.... most likely if/when future LO#2 is one!

We're TTC #2 with LO at 23 months old. Life got busy for us as well as a toddler being a toddler. We just sat down and decided to go for it because we don't want a long age difference between LO and a sibling. So, this is what makes sense for us.

We are waiting at minimum until she is 3, probably 4. No desire for close together siblings.

The plan was to wait until LO 2 turned 1 but we have lots of stuff going on right now so we are waiting a little longer...prob TTC this fall or next year.

My plan is to not go back on birth control, so whenever! I just can't find birth control I like, so after baby #3 we'll take a more permanent form of birth control, and never have to worry about it again!

I think I'd like to wait until #2 is about 18 months before starting the TTC process for #3.

DD1 and DD2 are 23 months apart. I am hoping when DD2 is 1 we can start trying but I have to convince DH of that (dd2 is only 6 weeks so we are still in the sleep deprived state )
DH thinks I'm crazy but even when I was still pregnant I would make references to our next baby. I'm a planner!

Given how long it is taking to get to #2, I don't think I will use any type of BC after #2. We'll be careful until #2 is about 1 and then start TTC again.

@swurlygurl: You are giving me heart palpitations. I had also not really thought about birth control... I suppose I'll have to go back on that to prevent the babies?

@septca: yup, main reason why we did and will start TTC so soon. #1 took a year and #2 took 9 months. We like a 2-3 year max separation.

That's our plan. We'll start TTC #2 when #1 turns one and TTC #3 when #2 turns one. It took 13 months to conceive #1, so I want to start on the earlier side.
We won't be using BC between kids.

@BakerBee: Haha! Yeah, it was shock to me after L. Wait, what, birth control again?! I was able to use breastfeeding to keep me from getting pregnant RIGHT AWAY. It's a good thing I'm not opposed to close babies! L took 9 months, and Sis took 6 months, so it appears it takes me awhile? Hopefully the same will be true for #3 so my babies aren't 10 months apart

We're planning on 3 total. 1 and 2 will be 2.5ish years apart. Well likely wait longer for #3 because I plan on going back to school for residency training. That's a two year program I will hopefully start when #2 is 15 months

@locavore_mama: Yeah, it's no fun. DD took 13 months and we are moving on to month 10 with #2...

DD was 20 months when we started TTC for #2, they will be almost 2 1/2 years apart. I would want to do the same for #3.

We're planning on waiting until DD (#2) is 2 before we start TTC #3. We plan on having #3 and #4 back to back.

we'll TTC #2 when DD is 2, but i have a feeling #2 and #3 will be closer together, maybe closer to 2 years apart.

We originally wanted two kids pretty close together, and our boys will be just under a year and a half apart. Now I'm not so sure about not wanting a third...but if we do decide to have 3, there would be a larger gap mostly due to logistical/financial reasons.

I'm so jealous of all of you who are having 3 or more! This will most likely be my last baby. It took 7 months to get pregnant and we started when he was 15 months old. I love the 2 and a half year old difference.

LO is 17 months and we got our BFP this month
There was a 7 year age difference between LO1 and LO2.

@MrsMccarthy: LOL. There is a saying where I live that a third kid is a status symbol because it proves that you can really afford to live here. I don't agree with that, but it does seem that having 3 kids is getting to be much more popular.

We waited until #2 was 12 months. I got pregnant when she was 16 months.

@septca: that's interesting!
LO#1 is taking a year (and counting), so I don't think I'll ever go back on BC. We would love 4 kids, so we will just keep trying.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@septca: that makes sense. I used to live in NYC and any friends I have who stay there have only had one child. The schooling situation alone is enough to influence that. Here is Portland it's more affordable to have 3 but probably not for us realistically at this point anyway. I hope you get KU soon! Pulling for you and hoping to see you with an April/May baby.
coconut / 8498 posts
@septca: I hear that in some of my circles, but in my main circles people tend to have 3+! It's definitely not because we all are rolling in the dough It's a lot think about in this area though.

I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I want a 2 year gap sometimes a 3 year (which is what 1 and 2 are) There are pros and cons to both and I just dont know but the longer I wait the closer it becomes to 3 then 2 naturally
