This doesn't have to be Target but any store that has a toy department. Do you avoid the toy department? Or do your LOs make you stop?
If you stop, doesn't it delay you for a while until you can get them to leave?

I didn't used to have to but now I do! LO isn't old enough to really understand why he can't have all.the.things. and it isn't worth the meltdowns.

I try and avoid the snack aisle more than toys. I guess DS would rather eat than play!

Actually we have a routine. My husband takes our 3 year old to look at the tv's and then they go to the toys and he picks something out and usually plays with it while I take my 9 month old around and shop. Toys keep my 3 year old in the cart instead of running around the store like a wild man.....usually........

We usually stop by. Esp in the winter months, it's another cabin fever activity. He's not old enough yet to ask to buy it all the time, so it's still an option right now.

We always stop and look. LO is ok about putting things back and not begging to buy them.

We stop by when we have time to let her play. After 15 minutes or so, there's typically a meltdown when she doesn't want to leave and we do.

I haven't run into this issue yet with my daughter, but with my husband I have to avoid the electronics!

The toy department is directly across from the Toddler Girls section at my Target. Ugh. DD1 always comments on the things she sees (recently it's been the new line of Cabbage Patch dolls Target is promoting, and some horse stable for their faux American Girl dolls, which she is convinced houses real live horses). I don't take her over there though, and always just tell her that if she sees something she really likes, she can remember it for her birthday and tell Grandma. She has no idea at this point that her birthday is six months away, and is happy to have that as an answer.

We always go to the toy department. Sadie asks for it as soon as we walk in. She just likes to look and play, we usually don't buy anything.

No, if they ask, I just say "not this trip" and move on.

We visit every time we are there, especially now that DD can ask to go there. I figure, I would rather condition her to look but not buy a toy (I never buy toys with her so far) then try to avoid it. Its so centrally located - right by the kids clothes and the holiday section!

I don't take her with me to Target. That's mommy's toy store

No, I don't avoid it and they don't ask for it.

I dont try to go by the area too much since its toward the back and if I dont need to then I wont but I dont avoid it totally. My son does ask sometimes if he notices it even but he knows he wont get it and doesnt make a fuss either so its no biggie

We try, but honestly she's too smart she knows it is there and to avoid a meltdown, it's usually used as a bargaining device (so bad) or honestly I go to target alone (my happy place) and leave DD at home!

No, it's fun to go look at all the toys. When it's time to move along we just say 'bye bye toys, see you later'. She's knows we get to come back, so she doesn't have an issue leaving

We usually stop and look. I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old. Both of them love to look and play and usually we can leave without any toys.
