I don't seem to get my period while I'm lactating. Doesn't matter how much I'm nursing, it doesn't come. DS #2 is almost 10 months old and still no AF. I haven't gotten it since March of 2013!
When did your AF return while nursing?

Just got mine back last week at 11 months pp (I'm nursing/pumping 4-5 times per day and usually once overnight). I was starting to get impatient because we want to start TTC #2 in a couple months, but I really enjoyed not having AF around for almost 2 years!

It came back almost as soon as I night-weaned, so I was only nursing once or twice a day at that point. LO was around 12.5 months old.

@lawbee11: this, once my son started sleeping 10+ hrs overnight it came back super quick. I'd say I had about 3 weeks of him normally sleeping that long stretch, and bam there she was! So I guess ovulation must have happened pretty quick once the night feed was gone.

4 months PP with LO1, still waiting for LO2, currently 7.5 months PP.

I was 4 months. We had some nursing issues (tongue tie, lip tie) along with my thyroid issues. Both where enough to mess with supply. Aunt Flo came back at 4 months. I started Frenugreek, blesses thistle and domperidone. She disappeared again for the fifth month. At 6 months we started Lo on solids and she reared her face again and I just said whatever, she's back.

@MamaBehr: I can't vote in your poll. Mine came at 15 months and the average for a breastfeeding mom is 14.5- from my research, so don't worry. Apparently mine was right on time.

I know SO many moms who said it came back at six months due to solids. But mine stays far far away until I don't have anymore milk! @Greentea: that's good to know 14.5 months is normal! Thanks

C is almost 15 months and no sign of her-- it has been just over 2 years since my last period! I do not mind one bit, since we aren't TTC for a while and I have no intention of breastfeeding and TTC at the same time anyway (I want at least some time in between nursing and pregnancy, personally).
@Greentea: I have never heard that before, but I also don't know that many people who have nursed past 14 months.

@Greentea: I was 14-15 months pp too, AF appeared on Christmas Eve - happy holidays to me!!

Still away and LO is almost 17 months! We have been nursing just 2-3 times a day for months now too. Feels like things might be trying to get started lately but nothing yet.

Mine came back around 15 months pp. We were still nursing a 2-3 times a day at that point.
And here I am nursing #2 with heavy bleeding at 5 weeks that the doctor says may be a postpartum period #notfair

Ds night weaned early at 3 months. Af showed at 4.5 months

I got mine back at 8 months PP. We were wanting to start TTC so I cut out multiple sessions quite quickly. She had been STTN from about 6 weeks onwards so that didn't affect it for me.

6 months but then I only got it every 2 months until I was back at full time at 12 months and it started coming every month again like clockwork even I'm still nursing 1-2 times a day at almost 24 months.

AF came back at almost exactly 12 months pp. I was still nursing about 4 times a day with an overnight feed as well.

10 months. I was actually surprised bc LO was still nursing 6-7 times a day and 2-3 times a day.

I nursed for 14 months, and stopped a three weeks ago. Still no AF, save for a tiny bit of spotting around Christmas last year.
If I can make it another 12 days I'll officially not have had a period for two years.

You don't have enough options.. Mine came back at 14 months. 19 months now, still nursing, regular AF.

Right around 9 months with my first, and now LO2 is nearly 9 months and whilst AF isn't back yet, I can tell things are ramping up and I expect her to return any day now.
