We have a closet in our bathroom (it's a shared closet between both bathrooms, so it's pretty big), so everything goes in there. I'll try to remember to get a picture when I get home.

Same as @avivoca:. We have a closet in the bathroom with a pedestal sink and just put everything in there.

That's my least favorite feature in both bathrooms. Pedestal sinks are lovely in a guest bathroom but in the master it's just annoying. Plus we have no closet in our master bath. We have a small glass shelf next to the sink, and two metal shelves above the toilet. They both get crowded and look messy if we aren't really careful about putting every single thing away just so (which is always). We thought about replacing with a small proper vanity but it wasn't worth it since we will only be here a few years total and it won't add resale value (condo living...)

This is a picture from right after the remodel was done. You can see our sink and closet.

My mom has this like curved two tier metal wire rack that fits around the column. Not sure where she got it from! The bad part is the products are visible to all.

@avivoca: thanks for the pic! Him how is your bathroom so clutter free
@adira: I'm going to have to be more diligent about putting stuff away.
@foodnerd81: I like the look but it's not very practical for us. I have some small shelves, maybe I'll put those up. But I'm really missing the vanity drawers I had at the old house.
@snowjewelz: I'll look into it, thanks!

Our old rental had a pedestal in the master and it was a pain. We had a medicine cabinet/mirror to put some stuff in (tooth brushes, medicines we use often), and then a set of cube storage shelf things next to it. We had a 2x2 but I've seen 2x1 too if you didn't have as much room. Ours had two that had doors on then, too, so you could shut stuff behind them (other two were just open), and the top gave you a little extra "counter" space too.
ETA: they were similar to the IKEA ones that everyone has

@avivoca: that looks more like real life
@kaykay: good idea! More counter space would be so helpful.

We stuck a vanity in the adjoining bedroom for getting ready. Only washing up allowed at the sink.

My sister used this when she had a pedestal sink. The little curtain allowed it to look less clutter-y.
It's Room Essentials brand, she bought it from Target.

@Finfan: I wish that was an option! Unfortunately the bedrooms are pretty small in this 1930s house
@magnoliamama42: Nice! I'll check at Target. This might be what @snowjewelz was talking about.

Currently housed in a ratty old dresser, but I'm planning on getting a linen tower/cabinet...try googling!
