What would be your video tactic to get you noticed and called for an interview?
DH & I really want to apply before we're too old for that kind of pace!

My MIL has always said she wants to go on that show with my husband. I think you need something that will create drama - something you disagree on or something.

I love this show! My sister and I always said we wanted to run it together! No idea what my video tactic would be though - I'm not a person with much drama.
If I applied with DH, we'd probably include how he travels extensively (domestically) for work.

I would LOVE to do this show!!! I think you need something that makes you stand out as a team for the entire show, more than something you do on a video.
I always wanted to do the Amazing Race with my bff Ryan. We’re a male/female best friend team and we’ve been besties since preschool! People who think men and women can’t be friends would be watching to see if their theory is right and we hook up (spoiler: it isn’t and we never have). Plus, he has *no fear* and would do all the super crazy stuff our team was required to do and not force me to do any of it!

How about an HB video - show them you have people rooting for you all over the world

@regberadaisy: a friend went ahead and applied with me as her partner. Our friends kept pressuring us but I refused because it's a lengthy process and I don't really have the desire to be on TV. They only video she had of us was of us riding a trolley together at a work conference. The producer emailed her back and said they were Interested in us but wanted another video of us interacting! I would go the more natural / unscripted route opposed to something to acted. I think they want a glance of who you really are and your dynamic.

For the longest time my bro and I wanted to do this together.Our shtick was all.the.time rivaling siblings. We just had to wait until he was 18 to audition, but that's came & went 7 years ago.
Now, I would go with my husband and our shtick would be uber athletic, strong hubby and uncoordinated, chubby wife. In our video we would probably high light our different routines to show just how much of a mismatch we are. Then, showcase something we do well together that shows we play up our strengths when it's time to cooperate and do something together.

@mrs. tictactoe: nah, I have no desire to be the drama team! DH and I are boring!
@yoursilverlining: you guys totally should!
@Mamaof2: haha awesome idea! That should be my last 30 seconds... Like a flipagram! LOL
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: haha I like it!
I think we would focus on how much of a team we are, college sweetheart together for 14 years and how we backpack for our hm at a crazy crazy fast pace for 21 days through 15 cities/7 countries! We're horrible on video so maybe I should just take video footage of our honeymoon pictures!
And it has nothing to do with being on TV. We just think it would be a super super fun way to travel and see more of the world.
@hilsy85: did they love it?!
@Reese: I can't believe she applied without your permission?!

@regberadaisy: she said it in jest. I never actually thought she would go through with it.

DH is a cop and I'm an intelligence analyst. So, we'd probably go for a brains vs brawn "crime fighting duo" slant. There's always a cop on every reality show, so I figure it increases our odds.

My cousin auditioned for this show with a friend and they called him to audition for another show (rhymes with Provider). He ended up getting cast and being in the top 3.

@daniellemybelle: for "provider"?! Interesting that they do that. I think DH will be amazing at provider! Minus the social aspect. Lol

I agree that you need to fit some sort of niche with a storyline.
It is my dream to go on Amazing Race but I think we are too boring to go on TV.

I binge-watched AR in the weeks after my babies were born and I am now obsessed. I would love to be on it but I am a terrible traveler! I'm bad with maps, I hate being away from home, I'm terrible at navigating public transportation. The only thing going for me is that I sleep well on planes. On the other hand I think my DH would be awesome. I want to pair with up with one of my BFFs who is a super organized superstar traveler. Of course DH has no desire whatsoever to do it, haha.
